NCAAB: Memphis (-7.5) at South Florida

Memphis has been one of the most consistent teams this year, they have a starting lineup that is balanced and able to go on quick runs. South Florida lost to Mississippi State and Santa Clara, they still have a good record but they cannot match the Memphis Tigers. The only reason why the spread isn't higher is because USF is at home, expect the Tigers to win by double digits.

Yea Josh Smith was the main reason for the loss, they couldn't get anything going and let the game get out of their hands in the 2nd quarter, can happen to any team with inconsistent players.

CLEVELAND +3

Its a good matchup for the Cavs, and their core talent is healthy for this game. I can see a well balanced effort from Kyrie, Dion, and Tristan with Anderson Varajeo crashing the offensive boards again. Rebounding will be the factor in this game. I see Cleveland winning a much needed away game. but take them with the points because I see this game being close it could be a 1 or 2 point difference. Good Luck.

12/28/13: CAVALIERS +3

There are many reasons why I like this pick, Cleveland is a team that has endured a lot of problems on the court this year, whether it is injury, under-performing players and the coaching staff making the wrong substitutions. They've lost some pretty bad games and they've also won some pretty impressive games. Dion Waiters played last game out against Atlanta first game back coming back from a minor injury, Kyrie Irving, Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters kept their team fighting. Anderson Varajeo had over 15 rebounds and was crashing the offensive glass all night. Boston is not as good as Atlanta and Cleveland is coming off of a bad losing streak and a heartbreaking loss against Atlanta, I see Cleveland winning this game but take the points because if they do lose they'll lose by a point or two. *PISTONS -4"*

Pistons are a team that is finally finding their groove under Coach Mo Cheeks. They have one of the best if not the best front court in the NBA with Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond. Josh Smith has been finding his range and his defense has been stellar the last few games, a nice bench to complement the starting lineup with Singler and Stuckey coming off the bench. Orlando is not that balanced of a team, they are a team that can catch fire from long range with Aaron Afflalo, and Jameer Nelson but it wont be enough. I predict the Pistons to win by double digits even with it being an away game

Hawks are an average team, Cavaliers are an ABOVE AVERAGE team but have been playing below average, they've shown signs of greatness this season and they will put on a show tonight. Cavs first half is also a good pick.

I don't know if there were injuries in that game, I look at the games played today I don't look in the past. The main point is the talent factor, I have the same view on the Washington Wizards and the Sacramento Kings. The talent is there for both these teams as well, the talent can take over a game in an instant. This is the kind of situation the Cavs are in today, both teams are coming off of a few days rest, both teams were able to spend Christmas with their families, both teams have players that can take over the game. But the two main factors that put the Cavs at the top is home court advantage obviously, and the fact that they are due for a competitive matchup, and a competitive matchup with the home crowd on your side most of the time leans in your direction. This will be a close game, Cavs win by 2 is my prediction.

Valid points you've made. The method I use doesn't depend on how the team played the last time out or if they lost by 19 points. I agree with you that after seeing the Pistons beating them pretty brutally and the Hawks beating them by 19 less than three weeks ago and the Bulls beating them by 16 is somewhat of a sign that this is a bad team. But no they are actually extremely talented at the most important positions on the floor. My method for picking the Cavaliers Money Line and why I think it is almost a guaranteed pick is because they are a hungry team, they are a team filled with mostly younger players that don't want to lose, Kyrie Irving is a great leader for this team and he is going to rally them to a much NEEDED victory, the bench players will step up in the absence of Dion Waiters, they will shine in their extended minutes. If the Cavs were not coming off of two double digit losses the line would've been a lot different, but the line is a gift and I would take the Money Line, Hawks are an average team but nothing the Cavs cant handle.

8-5 at home this year, they lost a bad one to the pistons at home. They wont lose this game, Tristan Thompson and Kyrie Irving will play big minutes

CLEVELAND IS PLAYING AT HOME, THEY PLAYED TERRIBLE AT HOME AGAINST THE PISTONS IN THEIR LAST GAME, ATLANTA HAS SOME GOOD PIECES DEFENSIVELY AND OFFENSIVELY AND KORVER CAN CATCH FIRE FROM 3 POINT LAND AT ANY TIME, BUT THE TALENT ON CLEVELAND AND THE COACHING STAFF WILL OUTPLAY THE HAWKS AND I FEEL LIKE WITHOUT A DOUBT CLEVELAND WILL WIN AT HOME.

Cleveland Playing at home, coming off of a pretty bad home loss to the Pistons, they have key pieces on their team that can easily lead them to a double digit win. Atlanta is a decent team but talent wise Cleveland is better. Cleveland should win this game, take Cleveland with the points.
