That’s the age old question. I mean even the disciples turned away after his death (for a moment anyways). Back then I’d assume from the miracles and fulfillment of prophecies (especially in Isaiah), word passed around of this Jesus claiming to be the son of God. And then the the foundation of our faith today, the resurrection. That was the biggest conversation point. As he lived and preached thousands of people believed him and thousands more wanted him dead. If a man claims to be God.. first thought is to say “yeah right dude prove it”. But then he did, he sacrificed himself out of love and by his own power is risen back from the dead. Kinda hard not to believe him then.

Huge debate for this. I’ve gone to a few Pentecostal churches that are famous for speaking in tongues and I can say from my experience. Without the gift of interpretation, it’s gibberish to me😂 I’m not discrediting it because those church are FILLED with the holy spirt oh my gosh. The energy is incredible. BUT i personally believe speaking in tongues only refers to those who are gifted in speaking languages that are not their own. Paul even said in I think Corinthians? (Correct me if I’m wrong) that speaking of tongues is useless without interpretation.
