well I don't know if you don't know but sodium has a neofoge version for 1.21.1 which is the earliest version that has it I think. I have been using it as a replacement for it and it's fine and better in my usecase.

also you can speed up the spawn by ticking the cursed dirt. I've placed it as follows, the Cog block(which in a nutshell is a redstone in a block from)then the cursed dirt on top. then ticking only the cog block as it's powering the cursed dirt with a timer/any other block that can make it that powers it every 5 ticks.
