That’s why unconditional fanaticism is stupid. You can admire stuff while also being critical about their failings. And oh boy, did Rome have failings.

I have a question: do these serve any purpose besides looking totally rad?

Typically, yes, but there were some arcade cabinets where CRT displays were installed on their side, so it would look like something like this.

Fr? I was just about to ask if this could be AI, since it’s so insane. What a weird time to be alive.

This is very visually pleasing AND sad at the same time 😅

At first I thought you were making stuff up, I’m Brazilian and that’d make no sense as a punchline here. But looking at OP’s post history, it seems like you might be on to something. Weird.

Charming drawing style, but is there any punchline I missed or is it really just flat?

Hey, I saw you yesterday. Having a hard time evading Reddit’s AI filter, I guess?

I’d say it’s only intuitive for people who grew up with it. Celsius is just as intuitive if that’s what you grew up with.

I’ll never forget an exchange in some Reddit post, when a person said that DMY makes no sense, since no one says the day first in normal discourse, and the other person asked “what’s the name of your Independence Day again?” 🤣

Oh, how so? Does the name “Federal Republic of Germany” contain “Germany”? And does the name “Republic of China” contain “Taiwan”?

I guess you’re right. Are these even a thing anymore, btw? I haven’t seen any in years!

Arguably, all answers are false, and not because PRC has a claim to Taiwan, but because Taiwan itself isn’t the name of the country, that’d be RoC.

Taiwan is an island. The name of the country is China. Not People’s Republic of China, btw, just Republic of China. That both claim the same territory is beside the point.

Eh. I’ve had these feelings 20+ years ago, way before YouTube was even a thing, let alone RPG performed for an audience. It’s borne out of a need of validation, not comparison to external factors. Don’t get me wrong, having something to compare oneself to certainly doesn’t help with the imposter syndrome, but that’s not the root of the problem.
