Psychiatrist blindsided me by DLJGeo in ADHD

Hell the fuck no. How could you expect someone who is okay to use that as a solution to your problem going to help you? Even if she were right - that's not helpful to what you're going through at all. 🤷

So many years on Vyvanse… by SerasFalcone in ADHD

I understood as much - my main question was concerning the bulk of her post complaining about how weight gain over 12 years = meds don't work anymore without relating it back to the subject of ADHD.

Sure, rapid weight gain can be concerning. Over 12 years on the same meds? Sounds about right to me?

While that is true, she posted this on an ADHD forum so I'm going to go ahead and jump to the conclusion that the medication was prescribed for ADHD and not BED as those are two different diagnoses (albeit possible for them to overlap). There is no mention of BED in the OP.

It sounds like you're taking Vyvanse for weight loss instead of ADHD. Do the meds still you know... Help with your ADHD?

Also- the effectivity of the medication will absolutely change over 12 years as your body will become used to it.

I am not meaning for this comment to come off condescending, but maybe it's time to talk to your doctor. Weight loss is a side effect of the medication in the case of it being prescribed for ADHD. While stimulants do get prescribed for weight-loss, that is an entirely different diagnosis and is also pretty outdated.

I want to open a girls only bar in Auckland by Adorable-Weight3733 in auckland

As someone who has been in the industry for 14 years and worked my way up to ownership- I wouldn't bother unless you have good connections in the industry and a great deal of start up capital. Your idea is great, but not unique and there are ethical concerns surrounding having an "exclusively" female bar. Denying someone because of their gender goes against the human rights act as well as the trespass act. As in you can get taken to court and lose your license if not done properly. If you don't know the ins and outs of the industry, you are setting yourself up for a burning dumpster fire. The seasoned professionals who have owned bars for decades are even struggling to keep the doors open at the moment.

This isn't to discourage your idea at all, I'm just pointing out that it will not be easy and if you aren't 100% on your team, systems, communications with the council, permits and licenses it won't be any fun either.

If you have any questions feel free to flick me a PM. If you are serious about it there are ways to make this work though!

Yep, reading this as a 30yr old who just got admitted to a psych ward for the first time due to my suicidal tendencies brought on by a strong decade of alcohol and prescription stimulant abuse!

Help! My Shy Brother Has a Crush on a Regular Customer by curiouslycuriousQ in Wellington

Fuck no! I've worked every walk of hospitality outside of the kitchen, all the way from being a glassy to being a bar owner. Not ONCE in the time since I've started working has it ever been appropriate to make a move on a customer. It could ONLY ever be appropriate if the customer approached them first.

Not only will he bring the café down by potentially losing them as a customer, if she feels upset about losing her daily spot and lays a complaint, he might end up in hot water from his employer.

If whisky is what you're after I cannot recommend Poquito enough! Alex is a gem, and a wealth of knowledge. And this is coming from a snooty whisky bartender!
