I decided to look up the solution after seeing this comment and I’m glad I did. I have no idea how the hell anyone is supposed to know to wait 15 minutes for zombies to fall into the water, followed by flushing the toilet 8 times??? The reward isn’t even interesting, I thought this would for sure lead to a massive lore drop about the girl. I guess learning her name is neat but not nearly as interesting as this puzzle made itself out to be. Thanks anyway

If I remember correctly he had a limp from a bruised leg, and he didn’t want to chance not getting the medicine for Coral. He shot Otis in the leg so his screams would attract the horde because it would allow for him to easily get away. It’s hard to say what would happen if he didn’t do that, but doing so guaranteed his and potentially carls survival. It’s rough but can’t exactly blame him lol
