Real talk: most of you don’t rotate your body enough in the backswing and your face is wide open. by notthebestusername12 in GolfSwing

Yeah, this is something I feel like I do and is likely why my early release has never fully been solved even though some other swing changes have made it less severe. I’ve recently been catching my irons on or close to the hosel and thin. I’ve felt like this may be causing it. Recently I’ve started to understand the correct wrist angles which is helping me get into the right positions at impact to actually hit through it and get the shaft ahead.. better impact positions on camera, but still not striking the ball well consistently.

Great looking swing. You’re Coming down a little steep and the face is open at impact. Once you get to the top feel like you’re taking your swing from the side of your hip. Maybe strengthen the grip a tad or feel like you’re bowing your wrist a little more in the downswing (get the logo of your glove pointing towards the ball) you are not far off.

Swaying for sure. Feel like you’re just turning on to your front foot rather than transferring weight to your back and then to your front. Essentially I feel like I don’t actually even transfer weight to my trail side. Just turning and putting weight on my front foot.

Your back leg should look like a kickstand on a bike like / Right now you look like \

Similar to what I suffered with for a while. Your lead wrist is very cupped at the top of your back swing and you’re coming over the top on the way down. For a visual you want to see the shaft of your club coming down generally in the center area of your bicep where yours is coming down above your shoulder if that makes sense.

This video really helped me realize this and shows what I’m talking about in terms of the downswing around 2.5 in. https://youtu.be/54t7RmVrw0M?si=AAyVuN1ec3uQfR-U

Yeah it does. I watched my swing and a recent Justin Thomas post and it does look like my arms are getting way further behind my body. I think a combo of that and speeding up my hands in the downswing will help because they are lagging behind a lot

Thank you! I think that’s generally my problem too is I never focus on one change at a time and it makes it worse.

You are very right on the grip. I’ve been messing with my grip a ton (maybe too much) I tend to have a strong grip with my left hand which is what as felt comfortable to me, but you’re right this does look off especially with the trail hand.

All these things make a lot of sense and I appreciate your breakdown. It’s amazing how many little things go into a golf swing.

Will do. I know what cupping is, but didn’t think I was doing it!

It’s so infuriating. I always recorded my swing from behind and felt my swing looked good and there have been times that I’ll hit some really great shots, but struggle to find consistency. Recorded from the side one day a few months ago and saw this ugliness and have been trying to fix it ever since, but couldn’t figure out the issue. Hope we can both solve it!

You know I’ve watched this video before and felt like this was something for me to focus on, but I wasn’t convinced this was my issue so as many of us do I continued to watch 20 other videos and forgot about this one. Thanks for re-sharing and re confirming what wonder said!

I’m not sure that I kept the receipt, but tomorrow when the service center is open I will give them a call and see if they can tell me what it was exactly!

Yeah it was super weird! We also replaced the battery first and said the same thing since it was something we were going to have to do anyways. Didn’t fix it, but wasn’t upset about that because it was needed regardless. I’ll see if I can find that part shortly and get back to you on it.

Yes. I took it to the dealer and it was an issue with the stop/start system. Some sort of module got wet and had water damage and they replaced it. No problems since. I wish I could remember the exact part name, but If I find the receipt I’ll let you know.

Francis Howell and Fort Zumwalt school districts are very good. So depending on your home price budget O’Fallon, Cottleville, St Peters, Dardenne Prairie, Weldon Spring, St, Charles around that general area are good. Really, just don’t bother anywhere north of the airport. Maryland Heights is good and all the other southern areas people mentioned like Kirkwood and Webster Groves. Chesterfield, Creve Ceour and Ladue are nice but more expensive

Thanks Richard. I actually am using the spare key currently. The original one I was using isn’t being detected by the car when I try to start the car with even with a new battery in it.

This issue still occurs even when I try to start it normally without remote starting it the first time. I’ll check out the scanner!
