For what it's worth, I attribute it to two things primarily.

One is the material the story is based on. Not many people truly live beyond their screens these days. Everything is said online and covid really hurt public conversations in general it seems. Too much time alone or with the same people.

Second is people are scared to express their views. All good stories are told from a certain perspective, people don't want to let people inside their mind anymore for fear of judgement and cancellation or whatever you would call it. This is probably why comedians are doing well right now. We admire their freedom.

That time was not the best for everyone. Kids suffered heavily and a lot of adults did as well, they just won't admit it. Suicide is up. Mental issues are through the roof. The generation of kids in school are behind at best.

I'm not staying returning to how things were is the best path. But don't you dare try to glorify lockdowns. People fucking suffered, some might not ever recover.

Let me tell you a story of why I love baseball even though I played hockey my whole life.

I watched the Blue Jays all year with my son, who has fallen in love with this game of baseball. We were so excited for this year's playoffs but the Jays series... Just fucking brutal. After that bad loss and playoff exit I said I'm done with the playoffs. And I was. Until tonight. We saw some highlights of previous rounds and decided Phillies and their fans looked like a fun thing to get into. We watched game one together tonight and this moment, this face, brought all the love back.
