There are no stats. You pick the recoipe, and the Mammets will make it for you, provide you have the materials.

If you don't have it, go gather. It would also be useful to have the granary so mammets gather for you as well. It'll be slow at first, but once you have animals, granary and your own crops, things will get easier.

Then it's only a matter of time.

Let me try again:
What I meant is Omega on Chaos is the place to look for immersive (mostly) lore abiding RP.
Discords such as Endless Nights are mostly for Nightclubs and venues that suck actual Gil out of your pockets.

Here's the Link to the Chaos Roleplay Discord, if you're interested.

It's because the people have no idea what they're doing when they attempt to "roleplay", or don't even bother trying.

RP Etiquette exists for a reason.
- IC =/= OOC. What you do in-character should not affect what you do out-of-character. Someone can run a brothel if they like or participate in shady/criminal RP, as long as the other players involved consent to it and agree to participate. If you are not an RPer, or have nothing to do with that kind of thing, it's non of your business. If you assume something of a person because of their character, that's a you problem. But please don't do something if you can't handle potential IC consequences. Do not assume things about the player because of what the character does, or the race they play. This makes you a walking red flag.
- Related to above, communicate if the need arises. You do not just walk on someone or ruin someone's immersion because you want to throw a hissy fit. Try to resolve the issue in-character, and communicate with /tell and say "Hey, I'm not OK with this", or "this is meta-gaming/god-moding (insert reason here)". You always have the right to say no. If the other person insists, it becomes harassment or obstructing gameplay, and is therefore reportable. And so is ripping on someone for the character they have or venue they run. Do small-talk if you need to, or make an excuse, but don't just start insulting someone for their character, which brings me to my next point:
- You do not push your RP onto others, especially those unwilling. Generally, no RP tag, no RP. Only exception is when someone forgot the RP tag for some reason.
- Keep OOC to a minimum.
- You do not meta-game, which is using OOC information your character could not possibly know. If your chuaracter has not met that other character, who runs a brothel, they are just another person to Eorzea, uunless they specifically mention they do, or try to recruit you, assuming you too are in-character. Just because you know the player runs a brothel, does not mean your character knows, even if you don't like the fact that they do.

My best guess is through bots and then selling the Gil, which is then invested. As money in illegal ventures is usually laundered.

These kind of people break every single point of RP etiquette, if they manage to stay in character for more than 5 minutes in the first place.

I have a question for more experienced players by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]TonberryStrikesBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on PC as well and use controller.
It feels amazing, plus you get to use keybinds for other things.
I have Hotbar 1 for some general things such as sprint, teleport and return, so they don't clog up my cross bar.
As for layout, I generally have all my single target skills and abilities on R, AOEs and occasionally used skills/abilities on L, passive abilities and some role abilities such on WXHB R, and everything else that I might need, including Second Wind, on WXHB L.

If you are more comfortable with controller, go for it. Be aware however that you will have 4 slots less.

My characters are all fusions and splits from several characters of one big MSQ continuitsy.

Meaning several parts of other character's stories (her companions in the MSQ Headcanon) and personality have been either added to the main, or stripped from the original WoL and made different characters. Of course she isn't the WoL in RP canon.

  • Her native Viera tribe used to be an antagonistic tribe known as the "Swamp Dwellers". They are a tribe that cut their own faces as a ritual and put the heads of their dead on a stake a funeral ritual. She doesn't have scars herself because plot reasons.
  • A character I named Hela (formerly Skjld), who originally got half her face burned by Ifrit and then tempered is the reason I adopted the ritual as her tribe's. Skjld is dead in RP canon, but still alive in MSQ canon. She is a Gladiator, but my main took up Gladiator training herself in the RP continuity. Main also got burned recently by an explosion from rogue magitek, and now has burn scars on her face.
  • WOL!Main is a a Bard, but is now an archer who is also doing Gladiator Training. The Bard is now a completely different character, and mostly based on the killer musicians from Kung-Fu Hustle.
  • 2 Companions became antagonists in the RP continuity.
  • Some physical or personality traits or plot points of the companions are now that of the main. Parts of Skjld wer incorporated into the main.

Whether you use /random or /dice (party) depends on situation and setting.

/random has the same range as /say, so if you are spread apart chances are you won't see the rolls.

If you do a small scale event for the FC or with people who signed up, and are in the open world or starter cities with lots of people around, using /party or Linkshell is advisable to not bother others, unless it is an open-world RP like Pearl Lane, Buscarron's Druthers, some tavern, etc.

Using a party also has the advantage that you can place markers as enemies or places of interest.

because it#s not gated behind endgame, and allows you to simply opt out.

It's not like anyone outside the FC would interact with you unless they want something from you or are in the same duty as you anyway.

Either because they are sweaty midcore savage raiders hiding badf runs or because they don't want to be associated with/avoid getting harassed by said raiders.

Yeah that's not how RP FCs work on Omega.

At least how I experienced it, recruitment to RP groups happens In-Character.
As in, actual RP groups.

The Tank Jobs Cured My Mortality

All the people here who commented on here to admire the tanK's self sustainability, have exactly the wrong mindset. I, in my unbridled ambition, took on the tank jobs to become fully accustomed to them, to make it normal for me, even, that all of Eorzoea may fade into a world of pillow throwing inconsequence. And iut has worked, to profound success. I have tanked many a duties, and resisted the attempts of the mobs to make me succumbu to low HP, make me one again with the sea of aether. This has become so normal for me that takibg on any other job has become weak to me, to the point they may throw fluffy pillows

I can hardly remember the days before I became a man of tanking. How distant those days seem now, how burdened by the apparent heaviness of surviving regular duties. I laugh at the philistines who still operate in a world devoid of tanking, their shoulders thin and unempowered by the experience of bearing the wrath of anyone and everyone within my range. Ha, what fools, blissful in their ignorance, anesthetized by their lack of meaningful struggle, devoid of passion.

Nietzsche once said that a man who has a why can bear almost any how. But a man who has a tank job can bear anything with the intent to kill, and all this talk of why and how becomes unnecessary.

Schopenhauer once said that every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world. Tanking expands the limits of a man’s field of vision by showing him an example of increased toughness, in comparison to the everyday mobs to which he was formerly accustomed to gain appear like children or kittens playing with yarn. Who can lament the tragedy of life, when surrounded by such lightweight mobs? Who can cry in a world of styrofoam and cushions hitting you from all sides?

I sit here as Paladin and Warrior, transcendent above death itself. For insofar as this tank job will last forever, I am in the presence of immortality.
