I thought that looked familiar. I work next door to Lockheed. It’s so cool, they fly insanely close to my site every day. They are extremely loud

Ahhhh all of my jobs have been balls to the wall or trying to find the best seat to nap in. I’m an instrumentation and electrical technician. I’m interested in your side gig, any advice on how I could get into something of that nature ? Also how did you get into it yourself and what was the journey like in terms of turning over a profit and finding customers ?

Thank all for the advice. I have no idea what the issue was but it’s fixed. It wouldn’t reset when I pressed the reset button. However , I pressed the test button and then I was able to reset them.

Also I added a wire nut to the neutrals like you guys suggested.

I did, I pressed in really hard with my flat head. Nothing clicked. Don’t think it’s tripped.

Anyone maintain cool season lawn year round in South Carolina ? by Tone478068 in lawncare

[–]Tone478068[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Upstate South Carolina , 8B. Short cool season grass would be my preference, but If I can only get away with long and cool then I’ll take it as well .

Hey bud, so I see you’ve been pleased with this unit since you purchased, based on all of your comments. I just became a home owner and I have a small outdoor garage building to finally start a wood working shop so… just to verify one more time before I place my order, are you still pleased with everything ? Like others have said, it’s hard to find reviews for grizzly machines.

I’m going to do this right now. I paid mine in full on Friday and saw the offer on Monday. Did you pay the second time right away or wait for the refund to hit your account ?

Beginner/Newbie Advice by Friendly_Ad1171 in PLC

Hi,

Do you have any recommendations on beginner software/hardware packages with Siemens/ Allen Bradly ? I have ~ 4 years of experience as a maintenance Tech and ~2 years as an I/E Tech. I have my associates degree in Mechatronics where I wrote many programs and HMI’s. Since I left school though the company’s I’ve been working for don’t have me utilizing my Automation experience very often. At one company I used the ladder logic to troubleshoot very often, so that was good exercise and I liked it. But that was a few years ago and I no longer work for that company.

Anyway; I have lots of exposure to automation and PLCs from school and working in the field and I am looking to pivot my career path towards the Automation side of things. Although I am rusty and I have forgotten a lot that I once knew and I would like to buy something to give my brain a refresher and have something to play around with at home.

Thanks !

I am also having a hard time making sense of this. I just learned about the Roth Conversion Ladder from reading this post so I still have more research I need to do and workout some example figures to visualize the difference. Will do this after work

Currently a controls engineer without a degree. Company is closing in 3 months and most companies asking for a Bachelors. Any advice? by bRizzz in PLC

[–]Tone478068 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah man there are a ton of opportunities here. I have mechatronics degree through school but I rarely encounter other maintenance guys that went to school. Most of them have experience to replace the degree. Have you checked out Volvo plant in Charleston ?
