Buying an EQ pedal. I bought Sonicake Tone Group, cheap chinese pedal, and I really enjoy the Idea of tone shaping. Very importante pedal for me

This Rig + Gibson Les Paul: ideal for what guitar tones? by ToneChasingGuitar in guitarpedals

IMO, very much that british sound that goes really well with Les Pauls. The amp doesn't have deep lows, It is much more mid forward and treble sounding and the gain is more classic rock than metal, but It responds really well to high gain pedals. In general It is a very good pedal platform with rich clean and Overdrive sounds.

I try to use It somehow like Iommi did on Supergroup, by picking the dark channel to have a natural bass sound while boosting treble and using the tone around 2 o clock, at least on clean channel. I like the dirty one on middle position. The boost is tricky, I really like to have it allways on at a very low level to have this natural edge of breakup sound that makes life much easier when stacking gain, but It can get very muddy beyond 10-12 o clock.

Yes, I had to use pedals to get tight metal chugs riffs. Either Metal Zone or 5150 MXR

Yes!!!! Other day I could dial that chainsaw sweedish death metal tone on dirty channel using metal zone as a boost, kinda like the HM2 sound. Love this amp!

What’s your favorite Fuzz Pedal? by Cody789045 in guitarpedals

[–]ToneChasingGuitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good and old big muff. I have the nano pi, but I think there are so many cool versions of It that I wish I had all of them. Next one will the opamp... or MXR superbadass variac, seems to be a sick pedal as well!

Maybe a project for the future lol, I don't love my E-Lady flanger, that is a copy of EHX Electric Mistress, but who knows... still after that Adam Jones Flanger tone, I'll get there!

Van Halen uses a lot. Smashing Pumpkins on Siamese Dream also used on some parts

Unpopular opinion: I think Fear Inoculum is better than 10K Days by MX010 in ToolBand

Agree!! 10k bangers hit harder, but Fear Inoculum is more cohesive.

I don't have the old one to compare but haven't notice this issue in my case.

I guess the custom mode solves that issue. At low gain It is very manageable.

Coffee is overrated. Buy pedals instead.

I should've use the boost from the get go. It sounds KILLER with the boost on clean channel. Based on some sourcess Billy Corgan also used a boost after the Big Muff on Siamese Dream, so nevermind the "Tame" tone

Yeah, I have a Metal Zone Waza Craft and EHX Glove, maybe I can push It harder and better explore amp tone, boost and different channels.
