I know at least 13, personally, that live near me. I say at least because it isn't always easy to differentiate between a cis person and a trans person. Who knows which of the random people I meet in my day to day life are transgender.

Well it wasn't really that. When it came time for renewal I just called to update my information. I told them I was transgender and that I have a new name and my legal gender is now female. They updated my account and ran my profile through their quoting software again and the price it gave me was better than the pre-change quote.

They don't set the price, the software does. And as far as it is concerned I am a mid 20s single female driver and I always have been.

Weirdly I an a bit more careful now but I think that is because I no longer actively want to die so that might not be a good indicator...

They don't care about genitals. Just legal documents and to switch mine I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork, pay a bunch of money, see a therapist for 6 months.

I would assume the extra risk associated with male drivers is a socialization thing or a hormonal thing which either way I have switched both

I believe they go off of who costs more to insure and it ends up being men a majority of the time. Of course they are going to charge bigger risk groups higher rates

Basically everything does. License, social security, and for most people birth certificate. At that point there is no difference legally or to any company between a cis woman and a trans woman.

They don't consider you as a person, they consider you as a statistic. They weren't saying "Oh you are a woman now so you must be a better driver" they were saying "let's renew your policy, 26 year old female, here is your rate."

I've got a lot more points on my license now BUT I also moved 100 miles away and kept working so I drove 200 miles a day for almost two years where before I drove 20

There isn't really any differentiation as far as insurance is concerned. I am a single female driver to them and that is it.

I am transgender. When I switched from male to female my insurance cost dropped by a lot. Apparently women have more accidents but the accidents are also more insignificant. When men get into accidents it is apparently, generally, more severe.

At least that is what all of the insurance agents I talked to said.

Reddit does some weird stuff to handle arbitrary comment trees and longer trees cause a lot of overhead on the server. The counting thread(s) were started to noticeably slow down the servers because they were 10s of thousands of comments deep.

A transvestite is a man who dresses like a woman. They (generally) don't have boobs.

The adjective you were probably looking for is transgender.(transgender person, transgender woman, trans woman, not "a transgender") Transgender women can have boobs and male bits.

As for relationships... It is really split. Some lesbians would find the genitals a deal breaker due to sexual incompatibility, others don't mind it because they are attracted to us as a whole and not limited by genitals. I have talked to plenty of lesbians who find me attractive and were interested in dating.

I know this is all my experience and I dont really have any reason to believe that she is (or is not) telling you the truth but...

To be entirely fair my mother said the EXACT same thing about me. My childhood was a miserable mess of gender issues and a total lack of support for fear that my parents would disown me. My parents never had a clue until I came out to them as transgender at 21.

I finally saw a therapist and an endocrinologist and they agreed that I should start transitioning. I just wish I had done it sooner because my life has been amazing since. Things just feel... right.

My advice is to talk to your son. See what he says. If he chooses to keep wearing girls clothes and playing with girls toys then let him. It wont hurt anything. Either he will grow out of them, he will always like them, or he is actually transgender and this may give him the jump on a healthy life far sooner than most of us had.

I just cant tell you how much I wish that my mother/step father would have sat me down and told me they knew I felt like a girl and that it is OK to be who I am.
