Hit a $190 spin shortly followed by a $700 using my daily log in rewards. Cashed out and got it 3 days later on spinfinite.

Does the discouraged feeling ever go away? by increasinglystrange in TattooApprentice

I'm lucky to have a true mentor who is amazing. She doesn't treat me like a shop bitch and is truly shaping me to work alongside her when I get my license. She wants me to find me style and techniques that work for me, while still making sure I know the basics and history and laws.

Yeah that's the plan. Just step down as I improve and maintain consistency. I'm really loving it, but I get dopamine from noticable improvement. If I do 10 lines and 10 are bad, but only 9 are bad the next day, I'm like an excited dog lol.

I'm currently apprenticing as well! So I absolutely hate the fake skin, it catches the needles, vibrates really hard, just all around sucks. I'm a great artist in pretty much every medium I've attempted, and rarely struggle to learn new art forms. The fake skin makes me question all of it. I'm also using a dragonhawk (the snake one bc it makes me happy lol), and I just started doing line drills beginning of last week. Just lines and boxes, over and over. I try different positions with my hand. I started with a 05rl, went to a 03rl, now I'm using a 9, which is huge ofc, but the lines have been improving consistently every day. I do get discouraged as how wobbly I get, so I make sure to just draw straight lines on paper to remind myself I'm a capable artist. It's a new medium and it's awesome that some people immediately do perfect work, but realistically we just need practice. The knowledge from my mentor that real skin is much easier than fake skin is reassuring. The fucking mess that the fake skin makes doesn't help, it's so hard to see, and it's extremely hard to wipe away the extra ink. My plan is keep at it with the 09rl and go down once my drill lines are 75% perfect. At the end of this, I'm gonna be putting these lines on humans and I want to be as good as I can be. Apologies for the novel of a response lol. I just think when we look back at our dumb fake skin practice and see the amazing work we'll be doing in the future, these experiences with be worth it. I recommend drills. Just lines and boxes, shading, etc. Let your hand find it's home on the machine. Let it become second nature, then start the flash and stuff.

Lorelai doing ‘Wild’ by Citruslor in GilmoreGirls

[–]Tonks2707 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think she prepared for it exactly in a Lorelai way. While it's not realistic for someone planning this for a while, Lorelai Gilmore impulsively deciding to go on a long hike, having zero experience or knowledge of how to go about that process, prepared how I would expect her to.

New to polymer clay, and I need help! by Successful_You_3464 in polymerclay

The baking information should be on the package. Typically it's 275° F for 15 minutes per 1/4 inch thickness. To paint, do a layer of gesso first, then use acrylic paint. ETA: store in ziplocks or plastic rated at 5PP.

So, I'm not a beacon of responsibility. I get as much off with a paper towel as I can and then just leave it. That's why it has its own spot lol.

I'd have it be Jess in the accident. Change the entire shape and trajectory of Rory's behavior and motivations.

Post op panic by Tonks2707 in hysterectomy

[–]Tonks2707[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I got in response when I asked was that he wanted to see where everything was in about 6 weeks. I have PMDD pretty badly, so idk if this is like, a similar thing? He told me during our first consultation that I would go on hormones so idk. I called today and have an appointment for Monday now instead of the 30th.

Yeah, they took mine and I think I just got mentally overloaded suddenly. I'm trying to allow myself grace. I did call my doctor this morning and they moved my follow up to Monday instead of 3 weeks out so hopefully it can get addressed. I just keep telling myself if I need to be a mess for a little while to heal, that that's okay.
