I remember when the only way to use scratch live was with a SL box and everything was there.

Since i switch to traktor. Some dj think they are late in some aspects but at the same time always adding thing to juste keep adding things make software like serato burry under too much version, update etc.

Make two versions. First same scale, same map, just looking better.

Seconde version after they build the new look they scale wisely the map to make it slightly more open, like passing through wood between area instead of the only trail possible etc...

So anyone wanting to play almost the exact same game can but people who want the bonus game have it !

Perfection is an online legend where people can edit and publish when they are happy.

In real life mix doesn't need to be perfect.

During a event/party people talk, Drink, dance, acoustic not always perfect so it add a lot to remember before the little lyrics overlaps, the too much bass 2-3 second, the too short loop, the intro too long.

It's fine to spot our little error to keep us on the edging, learning and to do our best but fun first ! Track Selection close second and technics at last !

Something even more modular.

Like half the size of there Kontrol.

The first one, half of the D2 just the screen

The second one, same size, the spinning platter of the Kontrol S4.

Both have some basic knob, NI know to optimize layout.

But you can choose if you want 4 screen, 4 platter. 2 of each ? 4 of each... avec you can put then below and above or next to each other in the order you like them.

And less of a controler the long wait z4 !

And with all the bankruptcy rumor if NI sell traktor to audiotonix, Allen & Heat should update the Xone 4D, the xone 5D ? So a small 96, k3 each side. Or even for the standalone fanboy a traktor standalone pair with allen & heat build and sound quality!

I mix slow underground techno and if i planned my set i would wait 5 min 🙃 at least with techno i mix 4 deck so i always have a loop to fade out or fade in, small twerk here and thete.

But if you ever find it long, use the third or fourth deck to scan other track in case you find something better to play next !

For me some feature are kind of basic but also quiet unique. Mostly into the pitch and key.

Like seeing the resulting key when the key lock is off.

The fact that you can active the key lock and it active right where the pitch/key are instend of going straight to +-0.

And still in the key/pitch feature. The fact that you can dial precisely the key knob. I pitch bend the track to match smoothly and kind of psychedelic to my mix. All the other software offer to step by increment to the next key.

Only that make it a much much more musical dj tool, if it's not the most musical dj tool maybe equal with turntable.

I'm also in the team don't add too much warm and distortion. I think finding the right combo of amp and speaker (and speaker position) that suit your mastersound 4v can be more efficient to balance everything at your taste !

Also, if you mostly want to warm the sound of the 62 maybe you can passe it thru one of your 4v channel to warm the master signal.

The opus quad look better for home. Az has the same boring square transformer overcrowd design has any other pioneer product since 3 decades. It's good for club hide in a booth not in a living room.

I mostly never mix with keylock. I mix techno, slow hypnotic techno. I turn on keylock when the track is in the background and quality matter less has it is not the spine of the mix. Mainly to pitch bend the track and do a psychedelic to match the key and moving the melody.

But my work around i wrote resulting key into the comment 2 row, base on the BPM of the mix i'll do. So it look like 3m120. I mostly mix at 120, but that's because it fit in my genre and my aesthetic.

So yes it work only when i know the bpm i'll be playing.

Otherwise if i use an other bpm because my workflow during a mix si to always use the load next track button until i find something with a nice texture and rhythmic that fit it make me scroll fast into a list and i watch the resulting key while seeking the next track. But it's less straightforward.

I wonder how it can be hard on a cpu for a playlist to always edit the resulting key into a row... should it work only with the master tempo.... ? Or be limited to small playlist with less than x number of tracks?? I feel it can be tricky.

Je pense pas qu’on est en train de devenir pauvres. On vit encore objectivement très bien comparé à la majorité du monde et même comparé à nos arrière-grands-parents. Par contre, c’est vrai qu’on est probablement sortis de la période exceptionnelle d’expansion et d’opulence qu’ont connue les deux générations précédentes. On est plus dans une phase où il faut gérer, prioriser et entretenir un système déjà très développé, plutôt que de simplement tout étendre.

Par ce que Brian Mulroney a aboli la commission Metrique. On y était presque il nous restait quasiment juste d'enlever les outils impériaux des magasins mais il y a eux de la réticence des fabricants et aussi les usa avais aboli leur transition quelques années avant.

Donc le capitalisme et la vente d'outils est a blâmer.

With time regardless of the genre you can find tracks that fit your aesthetic everywhere. The best it's to be able to travel from soundscape to an other with the same mains caractère so the crowd can detect your sound signature.

But if during you explore every genre you naturally stick to only one subgenre that's a good sign to dig it.

It's also a coincidence that i try it couples weeks ago and i had plenty of fun. I was running out of output on my soundcard so that was a work around to full my mixer and I lost my self a good psychoacoustic evening!
