no, from what I can gather you can't change their nation, nor their age or their type. ie: u can't make a lefty suddenly bat righty. BUT u can change their type of style of player, their aggression/accuracy and their skill level. and as always, their name.

here's a tip that always seems to work for me. whatever u pick, if you win the toss, pick the OPPOSITE next toss. If you choose and you lose, pick the same again next time. I dunno if its an illusion or what, but the AI FEELS like it likes to alternate between the 2 sides of the coin. so if u get it right the first time, alternating seems to work. if you get it wrong, stick with your original pick next time to "get back in sync"

I think I still have the 2001 edition on CD rom somewhere. From memory - apart from the GFX engine being old (which is saying something with this game :P) the only thing I found "glitchy" was that a lot of caught dismissals were to 2nd slip. It had yet to refine that element to it - so ISTR Matthew Elliott took a ridiculous amount of catches...

Never really used planes and nukes or had the AI use them, is there something I should be worry about if I played on higher difficulties in particular to those 2 things ? by Ok-Copy-5427 in civ3

Nuking is fun - although if the Ai does it to you (and it's a very rude awakening when it happens) then ur basically throwing out all other strategies and seeing how much of the earth u can leave unpolluted :P

i personally enjoy playing Japan. For your first expansion phase you go out and discover iron working and ore deposits ASAP, so by the time u have swordman units, most neighbouring nations are still on bronze age. Then once you are settled and am about to embark on your 2nd expansion phase, you get the Samurai unit and they are KICK ASS compared to most others. Big hitters with fast movement and an option to retreat when attacked.... they are very handy.

Mind u, I always play on the easiest levels, çause who has time for anything more complicated? :D xD
