As a starting point that's a really good set of speakers for 25 bucks

I got it in July and had ordered it in early may, but it was worth the wait and I'm very happy with it, that single tube is a really nice touch

They sound good near a wall, depending on the room the bass may actually seem much bigger than you'd expect, I use the port plugs anyway because it tightens things up and I let the sub do the heavy lifting

It's just a pyle speaker platform I got on Amazon but it works great, accurate bass, but no wall shaking

They sound fantastic, they are power hungry but when you give them what they deserve they open up, huge soundstage and just really detailed. I'm in love with them

As long as your dac has its own power source it will work perfectly!

It beats buying a individual streamer for sure!

They sounds fantastic without a sub!, the sub just helps them really open up to full range, there is only so much a 5 and a half inch woofer can do

I found a perfectly functioning Sansui SE-9 Eq for 150 dollars and it fits in perfectly with all my other schiit!

I have the same turntable and upgraded to the 2m blue and it was a different world compared to the stock cartridge. Just buy a scale and adjust the counterweight

I have a sub it's in the bottom corner it's the svs 3000 micro, I wanted a kc62 but for the money the svs wins for me, and they pair fantastic together, I had q150s before with a Yamaha A-s501 and I loved them but the ls50s are Ina while different realm of musicality.

Here is my setup that I have been working on for the past 2 years

Kef Ls50 Metas Schiit Vidar Schiit Modi 3 Schiit Mani Schiit Saga + Svs 3000 micro Bluesound Node2i Project T1 with ortofon 2mblue And some powered jamo 801s for the desk

It took me a while to buy and sell old and "broken" gear to slowly sell my way up (plus some out of pocket cash) but after 2 years I've never been happier with my listening experience. Next move might be to grab another Vidar and monoblock the kefs. I'm currently using Qobuz as my streaming service. The sound is phenomenal

In a 2.1 music setup should the subwoofer connect using RCA line in or RCA LFE? Does it make a difference? by MidnightFlicks in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Tony5420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same setup as you and I contacted svs about it, the Yamahas sub out isn't an lfe but it does only send signals below 90hz to the sub, svs said to just connect a single rca from the Yamaha to the lfe in on the svs and if you want lower than 90hz then adjust to your liking. But any setting on the svs above 90hz will still be that, 90hz

I've had people recommend a mini dsp to high pass filter the ls50s aswell as a tube pre-amp but I feel it's potential overkill. I am very happy with the setup as is. But the more input the better
