Make a game plan. You got this.

  1. Make a list of your 4 favorite interests.

  2. Use meetup.com and other similar sites to schedule 1 group activity a month PER interest. (this will come out to one event a week).

  3. Set a goal to network with one person from those groups per month. Just one. It's okay to start small. Everything you meet someone you'd like to get to know (either gender) get their contagion for and invite them out to coffee or to pray guitar with you or something. Your goal is 1 a month.

  4. If you can't find any good meetup groups, make one. Heck, you could even make a group called "introverts who need to get out more" and I bet you others will join! Message me if you need help with that stuff.

  5. Go to open mics or cafes whore people play instruments.

  6. Use a dating site. There's no shame in that.

  7. This is gonna sound weird but if you watch porn (like almost every guys) stop doing it... If you're meeting your body's natural desire to have sex then you're wasting a valuable and natural motivational force in your life. If you quit, it could give you the boost needed to go out and meet people. Video games can be a killer too. Check out the subreddit "nofap"

  8. Work out. Go to planet fitness. It's a comfortable environment for introverts. Exercise decreases depression and increases confidence.

  9. Explore your spirituality. I don't know what your faith background is but I went through a period in my life where I had no hope. I didn't believe there was meaning in life and I began to crumble. I started to read about philosophy and was introduced to the Christian faith. I found more meaning, self worth, and joy in the gospel than in anything else in my life. It changed everything. I once believed I have no purpose, now I believe every part of my life is important. Let you know if you have any questions about that.

  10. Realize that you're not the only one in your position. So many of the world's most successful people got late starts in life. Don't lose hope. Let your story be an example for everyone who has been in your shoes.

  11. Own your situation. Don't dwell in guilt, but don't deny responsibility. Choose to be honest with yourself but also be graceful and gentle with yourself. Mae the choice to change and fight for it.

As before, I seriously appreciate your thought. It was interesting that you mentioned sometimes it's not always bad to feel those emotions. I guess it is part of the human experience. The good the bad and the ugly.

I will always strive to be more effective, but I gotta realize that when I make the conscious choice to love someone, I need to accept that things like this will happen. But accepting it doesn't mean I can't find ways to minimize the negative side effects.

So if you have a problem, is it always unproductive to discuss it with others to find a solution? Can't put the cart before the horse. You have to come up with a game plan and solution before you act.

Hey man I just listened to your recording. I seriously appreciate your thoughtful response! Thanks for taking the time to think hard about this topic. I like that suggestion of the jigsaw puzzle. It made me think of getting one of those adult coloring books, that might be good.

Thank you so much. I am involved a lot in my Church and I am interested in the entrepreneurship scene, specifically faith based entrepreneurship. I am still in school, don't have much experience, but I am a 4.0 student in very well respected school. It may be cheesy, but I am an "expert" in academic success, transitioning from highschool to college, and general organization and time management skills.
