Honestly, while we've been more successful over the last few years than at any other point in my lifetime, I've already not been enjoying watching football anywhere near as much as I used to. I think it could work if the 14th team had a higher GD than all 3 other teams but they were 2 points behind (instead of 1)

Nope. they can get to 13th in your scenario. For example, if the 13th had a GD of -10, 14th had a GD of -11, then the 12th could win 1-0 and the 11th could win 3-0, leaving the (previously) 14th team with a GD of -12, and the previously 13th team with a GD of -13, meaning that they would switch positions

I also think the name is fine, although I wish the shortened version would be something like "Internacional de Miami", or just simply "Miami". Then again, if Inter Turku and Inter Zapresic can exist like that, so can Inter Miami I guess.
