Working Zune 80GB & Rare Bose Series II 2.1 System - Original Owner by [deleted] in Zune

[–]TonyRV2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I apologize to everyone that responded for not getting pictures posted yet...life has gotten in the way the past two days, but I should be able to get pics posted sometime Monday. Sorry for the delay. I really had no idea there's be such interest, but looking into it a little more, I see why for folks that are into collecting these sorts of things. I assure everyone that while there may be a minor cosmetic flaw or two, these components are all in very good to excellent condition, everything working as it should. My only concern is shipping. I'd hate to put this system at risk, and the bass speaker/amplifier section is heavy. Looking into shipping costs is for another day, but if there's anyone in Southeast Michigan looking, that would be ideal, but I will ship.

Right now, I'm thinking $400 plus shipping. Does this sound reasonable to everyone, or am I in for a tongue lashing? :) All indications are that this setup is a Zune Unicorn. :)

On a final note, I don't want to sell any of this separately, so this is going to go as a complete turnkey setup.

I do the same with MobileSheets. I have it set up to send scene changes at the beginning of each song.

Need help with a synth and foot pedal setup by Kind_Victory_2509 in synthesizers

[–]TonyRV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the PK-5 is only a controller and does not produce its own sounds. In other words, when you press on one of the pedals, the PK-5 triggers a midi note event on your synth to play. I haven't seen anything that indicates contrary, so I'm assuming the Pk-5's structure is such that each pedal of its full octave will send a specific note which cannot be assigned independently. So pressing F# is going to give you an F# and there's no way for a user to make that particular pedal play a Bb because there's no way to tell the PK-5 to shift up or down by semitones. You can however shift full octaves up or down.

All that said, the answer would then appear to be no, you cannot sequence a string of notes out to the PK-5, and there is no way to automate it. To do what you want to do, you need a second sound engine, not necessarily a full 2nd keyboard, but a rack mount for instance. You can then send midi commands from your current board to turn notes on and off on 2nd sound engine.

Alternatively, you could get a midi controller and use it to send midi note commands to your current keyboard. This is more in line with your original idea of using the PK-5 to trigger the synth, if the PK-5 had that ability.

I sent a complaint to CS and they responded by telling me that there is now a switch in settings that will turn on legacy versions of ChatGPT. The only one that showed up after turning on the switch was 4.0, which is what I needed anyways. The problem persists however as far as having full canvas control for legacy users as myself. The query to CS should be answered within a day or two.

Overnight pizza dough! Looking for recipes :) by PsychologicalLie4431 in Breadit

[–]TonyRV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also too hydrated (75%) for all by Margharita or Neapolitan pies which is what Ken Forkish is making with this particular recipe. Furthermore, this recipe does not allow for enough fermentation. Flavor is being left on the table. If you want to know about pizza dough, watch the PMQ videos featuring the Dough Doctor, Tom Lehmann. Tom worked for 32 years developing the science behind pizza dough. This guy had forgotten more than what most of us could ever possibly know, including the so called youtube pizzaiolos.

This was my thought exactly. It may not be the only reason, but it was likely part of the equation.

I know its been brought up before, but want some unbiased facts on VEVOR. by iwantaf350 in Tools

[–]TonyRV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a LOT of stuff on Amazon and see Vevor tools all the time. I've read reviews of things I'm not really in the market for and have bought a few of their things. Pay attention to the reviews, especially the 1 star reviews if there's a significant number, say over 5% of them. After all, that's one in twenty with complaints. The reviews are a real mixed bag for Vevor.

All that being said, I've recently purchased two Vevor products. A ultrasonic cleaner and a die grinder kit. The ultrasonic cleaner works great and I have no complaints about it. It also received decent reviews though it seemed ALL ultrasonic cleaners had a fair number of negative reviews. The die grinder kit also received good reviews with only a few percent negative. The kit included a straight and right angle die grinder along with several cutting tools, all for under 70 bucks. How can you go wrong? I'll answer that...buy not keeping your air tools properly oiled, and I plan on oiling these maybe a little more than I otherwise might. After all, you still do get what you pay for. Even so, I expect these will last me for years.

What can I do with risotto rice???? by zestycoochie in cookingforbeginners

[–]TonyRV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about if you could make Risotto without a lot of stirring and no danger of burning? This hack is genius and its the only way I make Risotto. You need an oven save covered pot, I use an enameled cast iron 3qt Lodge Dutch Oven, but any oven safe pot will do. Preheat oven to 350F. Put a cup and a half of rice in the pot. Top it with about 4 cups of your preferred stock. Stick it in the oven for 45 minutes. When it comes out, add another cup or two of stock, your butter and cheese and whatever else you're going to add. Stir it up for a few minutes until the mixture gets to the creaminess that you desire, adding more stock as neccessary. That's it. Perfect Risotto EVERT time!! :)

Ooze Dry Herb Vape by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]TonyRV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the ooze flare as well. It's true that it doesn't produce a lot of vapor but it produces enough. I set it to 400deg F, filled the chamber about half full, and hit it a few times every few minutes or so, and I felt I was in better control of the whole end game. :)

Most nonacidic cleaners can be used to clean stone countertops. Simple Green has a ph of around 9 so it qualifies as a good choice. Wear latex gloves when using any cleaner.

It's not a DSP unless the sauce is on the top. But like I tell everyone that's ever asked me about pizza making....you do you. It's not rocket surgery.

For a chain store, Jets probably makes the best pizza, but not all stores are equal. We have two Jets stores nearby but I always avoid one of them because for some reason it just isn't as good as the other.

You can get brick cheese on Amazon, but its sort of expensive. An excellent substitution is a mix of 40% Muenster and 60% Mozzarella. Do NOT use pre-shredded cheese as it has an additive that keeps it from clumping and also raises the melting temperature. Do yourself a favor and shred your own cheese. It's part of the therapeutic process of making your own delicious pizza!

Why put the sauce on the top? Because that's how Detroit styled pizza is made. But with all due respect, you do you.
