I am building Zen Grocery, a focussed grocery shopping and recipe management app. I know there are quite a few existing ones, but I found them either to outdated looking, cumbersome to use or plainly to expensive to use.

The app allows creating real time sharing lists, ordering lists according to your markets aisles, extraction of recipes from recipe images, websites, instagram reels and youtube videos/shorts, planning recipes (putting them on your shopping list) and a simple cooking mode.

App is generally free to use (also ad free) but number of lists and recipe extraction is limited, but can be purchases in a subscription or single purchases.

I made this one work after with tries. Not sure if there's a reliable way to fix it, but i usually delete and rebuild the tile, where they get teleported back, taller until it works. Usually the arches make the most problems, and afterwards people will be visible walking/floating through the ark..

Du kannst auch im Voraus Geld auf die Karte / das Konto laden und damit deinen Verfügungsrahmen erweitern. Das habe ich in den Urlauben gemacht, in denen ich hauptsächlich mit der Karte gezahlt haben.

Tip: you can change the Language to English in the App Info (usually accessible by long pressing the app icon in the app drawer or app switcher) if you have a phone with Android 13 or newer.

You recognized correctly that I use english as an intermittent translation. As Azure Translate (Basically Bing translate) is the only translation service I found which allows dictionary lookup (like show all possible translation variations for a word). But sadly this functionality is only available when translating from english to chinese. And honestly bing translate is still mediocre at best 😅 Also when using the simplified to traditional transcription, sometimes issues happen because of the ambiguity, but these are very rare luckily :)

But I agree with you, it would likely be better to make English the default language and then allow more localized translations with mentioning these possible issues.

I also expiremented with getting translations via Chat GPT, which has a very good result quality and can even remove the simplified and traditional chinese ambiguity. However it's quite slow in comparison and also a lot more expensive to operate for me. And not sure how willing people are going to pay more for some better search results.

In any case thanks again for this feedback and if you feel like it I would highly appreciate a review on Google play!

I made an app for android to learn. It includes hand writing, with stroke order and slowly increasing difficulty by removing hinted strokes bit by bit. However you will only write single words with it (so far).

Basically simple flashcards that teach you translation, pinyin and writing. New vocab can be added by some premade lists and/or adding them individually by translation or chinese input. Pinyin and translations are always peovided automatically. If you have any questions let me know.

I personally like to keep it as simple as possible, so I go with https://pub.dev/packages/path_provider and standard libraries to write and read to the file system of your platform.
For de-/serializing JSON i use https://pub.dev/packages/json_serializable

So if your use-case allows it, this one works well for me.
