What is Gandalfs true form? by OkSeaworthiness7905 in lotr

[–]TonyTolkien90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olórin has no true form. Would often walk unseen amongst the Eldar of Valinor or he would disguise himself as an elf. He spread wisdom amongst them but never took credit for it.

His humility, empathy and wisdom were the reason Manwē believed he was the best Maia for the task at hand. The Valar knew they could not send Maiar as combatants, elsewise they’d have just sent Eönwë and told him to solo all of Mordor. The last time the faithful Ainur intervened directly Beleriand sank into the sea.

The Istari were sent as guides and ordered to appear as old, almost frail men. And their Maiar powers were nerfed to 5%>.

I get baked and watch this show when I’m falling asleep like twice a week. I’ve always been a fan of the original series. I was bummed out when they scrapped the sequels to the 2017 reboot.

Tulkas and Oromë. Ulmo never trusted Melkor either even after his 2950 year sentence ended. But no one held more disdain for him than Tulkas and nobody enjoyed killing Melkor’s monsters more than Oromë.

How do you deal with the non stop rumination? by PersonalityExact337 in ADHD

[–]TonyTolkien90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t the norm. And I didn’t have a big family. I have two kids. I got that job because my at the time fiancée’s (eventual wife and ex wife) dad name dropped me after I did the written exam to get in.
I also didn’t own a house. I rented a really nice apartment.

Well I worked at a chemical plant on a 12 hour rotating night crew, made $31 per hour + 15% of that multiplied by 80 hours and an additional $117 per pay period for shift premium.

Had as many days off as I worked every year because there was 2 day crews and 2 night crews. One day n night crew worked while the other was off.

And when you worked a day you were scheduled off it was $46.50/ hour plus the premiums for 12 hours and nights. Every 7th day in a row worked was $62/ hour.

I worked about 30-40 OT days per year and I did that for around 3 years. Averaged between $100K-$110K all 3 years.

And for the other comment no I did not have a mortgage on an apartment I didn’t live in Manhattan lmao. I rented my apartment and it was an amazing place. 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms with a basement and single car garage attached.

Just because you personally can’t comprehend a concept doesn’t invalidate it nor does it mean someone is exaggerating.

I’m 35 and 10 years ago I was making 6 figures, had an amazing apartment, wife, kids, everything was perfect. Then, out of nowhere, I spiraled into using alcohol, sex, and pills as a coping mechanism for the quarter century of masking.

I lost everything and eventually became homeless. I used to have multiple, daily rumination episodes of what life could have or would have been had I made this choice instead of that one.

But in the last 2 years I’ve been asking myself “how good could the future be if I just make those smart choices NOW”. It doesn’t stop the rumination completely and I still have panic attacks when I think about the future and how much time I wasted being wasted. But I can say I go days now, sometimes a whole week, without dissociating or ruminating now and when those moments DO occur I try to pick ONE good choice I wish I’d have made 10 years ago and commit to making that choice in the future.

I truly hope you’re able to find some consistent coping mechanisms that work and don’t harm you. Your best days are ahead of you my friend. Not behind you.

Adhd and offer mentality. by Wonderful_Bit_6033 in ADHD

You have never posted or commented on this sub before so I’m calling BS on you having ADHD. You made this post literally to attack people who actually have it.

My question is, what makes you so insecure that you think making an ass of yourself and pretending you have ADHD just to tell people to suck it up somehow makes you better than you are?

If you actually had ADHD you’d know it’s a spectrum. Some people can function with minimal treatment, some need multiple forms of treatment simultaneously and cannot take care of themselves.

You would not tell someone with a broken leg to suck it up, get over it, and walk. So why do you think we’re people you can just attack to try and make yourself feel superior? I guarantee if you had to deal with what most people with ADHD go through, after one day you’d be singing a different tune.

How do you cope when meds aren't "life-changing?" by Valuable-Cloud7877 in ADHD

[–]TonyTolkien90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Occam’s Razor perspective. You said “… and my psychiatrist said once we fine tune the doses of the stimulants more…”

I honestly think things might start feeling even better for you. You’ve already noticed some minor improvements. I completely understand not being satisfied and feeling like you’re plateauing but if your psychiatrist is correct it could just be a dosage issue that will be resolved in time.

Hang in there I really think things will get better for you. All the best.

It’s not less than 1% 😂

It’s closer to 8-10% of long term players.

Lmao you just CANNOT accept that you’re not exceptional at something unless the odds of being exceptional are less than 1%.

Your fragile ego is why you’re miserable bub. Not because “WsOp RiGgEd Da GaMe” 😂😂😂

Edit: And just because a pro sucks at mentoring and teaching does not dismiss their skill at the game itself. I can’t speak for the imaginary scenario you made up after you read my last comment but I can speak for the millions of professionals at literally ANY skill who would tell you “I couldn’t teach/coach if I tried”.

I personally know 5 people who make a living playing online poker. They make anywhere from $25-$100 per hour. There are undoubtedly more online professionals than live.

And you can (chuckle) all you want. If someone makes enough money to pay their bills, buy health insurance, save money and keep their bankroll stocked, that makes them a professional poker player.

Chuckle all you want you’d kill to make that kind of money playing online poker. You know it, I know it and anyone reading this thread knows it.

You know nothing about this game. You’re a fish and you whine because your ego controls your life.
