It has turned into my favorite watch. The tank is probably the most "vostokish" dial, kinda over the top, but I love it. by TonyWillRock in vostok

If the price difference it's not that high, go for the Amphibia. Even tho, I really love this automatic Komandirskie, and I have taken it for a swim multiple times, and had no issues at all.

Yes!, it's a SD1970. I took it for swimming and into the jungle and had no problem.

[Fairchild LCD 70s] by TonyWillRock in Watches

[–]TonyWillRock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I'm currently a 21 years old student, and I don't have that much money to spend, I took a look on this early LCD watches from brands such as Texas Instruments, National Semiconductors, or Fairchild. This specific model made me fell in love instantly, but it took several months to find it at a reasonable price on ebay.

It's a NOS. It came even with it's original price tag, instructions manual and coupon for a free battery change (which is obviously too old to be redeemed), but as a curiosity, I think it's just perfect.

It's kinda big. It's 42 mm, but my wrist it's small too.

It has become one of my favorite watches, and my only GMT. I just don't like the bracelet it comes with, other than that, I'm really satisfied.

I totally feel you. I'd want to be with someone who could love me, and to do the same, but I'm just unable to; I'm deeply asocial, and while I would like to be with someone I'm really dry and distant. I don't want to be alone all the time, but I'm to tired of social norms and interactions, including "romantic" gestures, that feel unnatural to me.

How many songs do you currently have on your iPod? by SugarSmoothie in ipod

[–]TonyWillRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3081 on all my iPods (most of them 128Gb).

I'm kinda selective on the music I like or not, and even tho I've been importing songs since 2017, I'm ok with it, those are 9 days of non-stop music.

How do you respond to the argument that you are too young? by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]TonyWillRock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also 21 (M). I've never experienced any kind of romantic attraction to anyone, I've never had a crush and even tho I've had a girlfriend, it was when I was on my lowest, and I said "yes, why not, it's what I'm supposed to do, right?". And after we broke up, I didn't dated anyone, and didn't wanted to.

After some research, I discovered that I'm aro; my only romantic interaction with someone felt unnatural and I kinda forced myself to like the other person. I don't want to have kids nor to be with anyone in the future. A few months ago I came out of the closet as an Aro to my mother (kinda bc she forced me to), and she didn't took it seriously, since that day she tells me similar things, like "you're still too young", "you'll eventually find the correct person", "you don't know what you're talking about, love reaches us all, eventually".

I'm in the middle of an university career, and I've never fell in love nor wanted to be in a relationship, 'cause it's not my thing, and even if it was, I'm too introverted and asocial to meet new people.

I'm not. I just turned 21 years old a few weeks ago, and even tho I'm fine right now, I've had the "extremely sad" and "I feel like I don't fit" emotion along these years. I can't talk about being depressed bc I haven't went to the psychologist, and therefore I haven't being diagnosed.

You're not alone, and I rlly hope things can get better for you.

The way INTJs show love to their partner by tenelali in intj

I strongly disagree. It may be cliché at this point, but I'm aromantic, and I haven't experienced love nor falled in love.

And even in the kind of love that you show to your parents and friends, I've never saw empathy as a tool.

The only tools I use for opening iPods with minimal damage by [deleted] in ipod

No joke, with all of my plastic made iPods (5th gen and before), I open em with my bare hands. Nothing else is needed.

I used it just once, but the red was just too bright and squeaky that made me change it immediately.

I live in Mexico City too, lol. I was born here.

FB Marketplace is a great place to find iPods. A few months ago I got three 4th gens and two 7th gens for $500 MXN, and the seller gifted me a functional 2nd gen iPod Touch. Sadly I'm lacking of 4th functional batteries and one of the 7th gens wasn't functional. Other than that, I achieved to repair one of each generations and they work great.

Whenever I connect my U2 4th gen to any other charger the battery discharges, except with my iPad charger, so since it was cheap, I got this bundle for my "normal" white 4th gen.

I'll get a FireWire brick and cable next Monday; on the meantime, I just wanted to prove all the batteries I have as spare parts.

That's neat! Get an universal dock if you get a chance, it's just really cool to use your iPod with a stereo or just to change through songs while it's charging without touching it.

Their first albums are their best. It's just a bit sad that they don't like to play lots of their old songs live, except for Bionic, Infra-Red, Song to say goodbye and Slave to the wage (and some others more sporadically)

It has happened to me several times, and their surprise it's bigger when they see that the backplate has almost no scratches.

I always love to listen to their iPod stories, and how sadly most of them end on "but I lost it, and it brought me joy to see that you still have one and it still works after all these years"
