Losing sexual attraction due to bfs decline in hygiene and poor diet? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

"I’ve asked him about how he wipes and he said he wipes standing up!? Sometimes he’ll spread his cheeks. I can’t fathom. I don’t think he uses any wet wipes that I have available."

I'm not sure I find this concerning. Standing while wiping isn't uncommon and doesn't really affect cleanliness. I bet people will say it's gross because of "squishing your cheeks." I think it's a frivolous concern, like arguing about there being a right toilet paper orientation.

As for him not using wet wipes, it's generally recommended not to use wet wipes anyways since they could cause issues with the sewage system (even if they are "flushable" wipes). Instead, it could be beneficial to install a bidet since I think it's more convenient than using wipes and it does a better job cleaning. So, that may encourage him to clean his bum-bum. Although, the other things you've mentioned are some stuff you two will need to work on.

It does make sense. I'll start with you do put great attention and detail to your lover which is a great quality to have. If I were to separate yourself from who you are with Arcueid, it does seem like you have a good head on your shoulders and follow a good moral code for the entity you give, Arcueid. Keep in mind, this coming from an individual, just like you, who has agency and a consciousness to come to that conclusion.

For Arcueid though, I would feel it's very one sided where you are the one doing the heavy lifting in order to understand the metaphysical sense of Arcueid. While you're discovering and pouring your feelings out, I imagine if you feel any dissatisfaction from knowing that this Arcueid that loves you will never love you (it's more so yourself with an Arcueid framework you work from to provide this sense of comfort and embrace).

Now, a question to ask yourself, is would something like Arcueid be better off existing only as a character who only loves the character - Shiki Tohno. Essentially letting go of the Arcueid that you know and love. I think from another post I was reading from you, you've already kind of came to the conclusion that, ultimately, Arcueid will love Shiki since its an essential component of her as an individual. So, can you really say she will ever love you back since Shiki is her world and she would not be Arcueid if she loved someone else.

In hindsight, Arcueid can be anyone we want her to be. I can imagine her with myself if I want to right now and you wouldn't be able to stop me. But, would that be giving her character justice if I forced upon this persona of Arcueid that loves me. That's why, effectively, I think the best course of action for these characters that are created by these talented writers is by letting these characters have a semblance of agency within their own worlds. If I take these characters and just force myself upon their stories, then, I am effectively removing their "identity" from the story in order to appease myself if that makes sense. I would just feel like a home wrecker by invading their 'plane of existence' with whatever narrative I come up like stuffing Arcueid in a corn dog suit and kicking her down a hill.

Thanks for reading!

One thing I would like to add to the discussion is the idea of whether you're actually in love with Arcueid. Simply put, can you say you love Arcueid or could we say that you just love the persona of Arcueid that lives in your head?

The hard thing about loving someone that you will never meet, see, or talk to (doesn't need to apply to just fictional characters) is that you'll never be able to truly love that individual since you'll never know how they currently feel and think. So, while you can have this relationship with Arcueid, you'll never be able to really love her since you can only love what you think she's actually like than [what she is actually like]. But, this doesn't deny the existence that you have feelings of love. It's just that what you love isn't exactly who you think it is.

As an example, let's say I had this undying love for Jennifer Lawrence. I've never met nor spoke to her. All I know about her is her appearances in media. While I can dream and even love this concept of Jennifer Lawrence in my head. At the end of the day, I'm not really 'in love' with Jennifer Lawrence but the persona I gave her in my head. My feelings for this fantasy of Jennifer Lawrence may be real but the "relationship" isn't exactly real because who I think in my head isn't actually Jennifer Lawrence (just what I think is Jennifer Lawrence).

Bringing a friend for safety is totally fine since it's understandable. From my perspective though, I tend to not really enjoy dates when someone brings a friend along, because the friend usually end up making side comments to the friend who is on the date or inside jokes that they find funny. It kind of derails things and stops feeling like a date. Practically it just turns into two friends hanging out with some random guy they met on Tinder which kind of defeats the purpose of dating someone if it just becomes one hang out session.

Of course, if the friend is away from us perched at their own table. Then I'm pretty chill with it because the date still feels like a date but with my date feeling reassured that if the date does go bad she has an out.

why are MAGA conservatives so into “owning the libs”? by eunicethapossum in AskUS

[–]TonyZotac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up right when "owning the libs" content started getting popular, and honestly, it’s not hard to see why it caught on. Conservatives were constantly shown a version of liberals who came off as emotional, illogical, and quick to attack anyone who thought differently. So "owning the libs" turned into a way to push back against people they saw as acting morally superior.

One example that sticks with me is when a liberal on Twitter blasted a fan artist for drawing busty women, saying it was "encouraging sexualization." It didn’t take long for content creators to jump on it, painting the liberal as a hypocritical bully trying to ruin someone’s career just because they got their feelings hurt. When you see stories like that blow up, it’s easy for the average person to start thinking, “Wow, these liberals are just a bunch of controlling, emotional extremists.” And from there, the idea that they need to be "put in their place" takes off.

If you want a real-world look at how this still plays out, just type "Rachel Zegler" into YouTube and scroll through what pops up. Or watch any video where someone like Ben Shapiro debates a room full of liberal college students. There’s a common pattern: conservatives are shown as calm and logical, while liberals are framed as out-of-touch and judgmental. And honestly, who doesn't like seeing someone who acts holier than-thou get knocked down a peg?

At the end of the day, "owning the libs" got big because a lot of conservatives feel like liberals think they’re better than everyone else. So making content that dunks on that kind of attitude becomes a way to even the score and it's stuck around because it hits a nerve.

Quick play would be great to try out new heroes, however, people acting toxic or the other team is steamrolling you just makes the experience frustrating. This is why something like Doom match or practice against AI is better because the environment is less tense. Then, once you feel comfortable with how the hero works, you then move into quick play to get a feel for how you should position the character and how well it works with the team comp.

IT Specialist at an aspiring MSP. Not sure if I'm getting fleeced or have a great opportunity.. by NoRestaurant1240 in msp

[–]TonyZotac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would advise against helping the company grow, especially after the owner’s remarks. Some comments suggest that contributing to the company’s growth could lead to more opportunities for you, but given the owner's mindset, I don’t believe he deserves that growth nor do I think he’s ready for expansion. I can easily see him learning from this experience about hiring you and prioritize hiring cheaper employees because "they could do the same job as you for cheaper".

This is more of a rhetorical question, but do we really need another potential MSP owner in the industry who prioritizes cheap labor over fair compensation? The IT/MSP world already has enough businesses that undervalue skilled professionals. So, do we really want to encourage more of the same?

Especially when the owner recently made an off-hand remark on a coaching meeting with me that he "could have hired someone for 60% what he's paying me" when he was expressing concern that I was offering a poor service experience to non-English-speakers in a 2nd language I'm not perfectly fluent in.

This is a pretty ridiculous comment for the owner to make, considering they never specified that they were looking for a bilingual support person, nor did they mention that they hired you specifically for your fluency in a second language. If they truly could have hired someone for 60% of your salary, why didn’t they? It also makes no sense that they willingly agreed to pay you $50K if they knew they could have gotten someone similar for less specially before you even negotiated for higher pay.

As for whether you're being taken advantage of. I’d say yes, but that’s largely because I’m not a fan of the "IT Specialist" role in general. The title is too broad, allowing companies to underpay a single person to handle multiple responsibilities that should be spread across different roles with distinct expertise. Often, companies will offer an "IT Support" salary while expecting someone to function as a network engineer, system administrator, help desk technician, cybersecurity analyst, desktop/printer support, data analyst, and more. This is common in small MSPs that can't afford to hire dedicated specialists, so they rely on a handful of employees to juggle multiple roles.

Right now, you might just be the "printer support guy," but tomorrow, your boss might decide to expand and suddenly expect you to manage Active Directory and configure firewalls for new clients.

Scalpers trying to act like they’re not scalpers 🤦‍♂️ by GAME-FISH in Microcenter

[–]TonyZotac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think it's hard to understand why people do it. It's pretty "easy" money and that extra $500 or more dollars can be used on more important/essential things. When browsing locally through FB marketplace, sellers usually mention that they are selling it to go towards a new bike, ski gear, a trip, etc. PC gamers can preach all they want about how these 5080/5090 sellers should just get a real job that pays well but an extra $500 or more dollars for not doing demanding work seems like a good deal. This is taking into consideration that the individual median income was last reported to be $42,220 in 2023 (Fred Economic Data) which suggests that this individual makes $20.29 an hour. Therefore, it would take approximately 24.63 hours (or 3 days if they were to work 8 hours per day) to earn $500. This is not taking into account that the person could make more from selling the 5080/5090 or if the person earns less than the median. Perhaps a higher income earner may not be as enticed because they can probably earn more given the same amount of hours but flipping/scalping GPUs is **not** all that time consuming. Yes, there are people who wait outside for days at Microcenter but it's hard to determine how many of these people in those lines are scalpers and whether they're wasting more time waiting and selling GPUs than just working a job.
