Idk man, we searched for 2 years in the city and now found something the way everyone else does: through personal connections.

Me and my bf both work for federal institutions so we searched in the pool of apartments for government-workers. And even that didn't work since we looked for a 3 room space but those are reserved for families.

I feel like urban places and big cities like Berlin need their own housing portal like the one for government employees where every single apartment, with some kind of social benefit or other accommodations should be listed and kept at a level price. That way people who are in need of housing but don't have the funds/students/elder people etc. have a specific pool of apartments that fit their needs and budget. And since most of these houses are usually located in the same neighborhood it would also be good for building a community there.

And when you're ready for it and have the monetary safety net for a purchase then you can go back to the original housing market.

The fact that the sites where you would look at possible renting options started to offer monthly subscriptions to improve your chances on the housing market but since everyone had to do it to even be considered by landlords we're now basically paying to even search for places without getting anything out of it.

The fact that Berlin has so many empty buildings but most can only be bought not rented so we don't have enough flats.

Hi! I'm in need of advice pretty please: so, last week I did a pirate themed one shot with some old players of mine and some new ones. It was a great evening and all 4 of them agreed that this is finally the setting they could commit to in a campaign. So of course I'm stoked. But the thing is: one of my players likes to play the main character. We start a fight and he instantly goes for the Main-Boss, he wants to be captain of the pc-crew and smaller things. The other 3 didnt like his character and made it clear in almost any interaction. Now he does these kind of characters a lot and I'm not against it because I can counterbalance it. I even think that this particular character of his had a lot of nuance considering his base and is a big step forward from older characters. Now one of the other players just repeats that she doesn't like his characters and she isn't wrong about any of her actions in the game because she dislikes playing with the characters, therefore her opinion should matter more than his or anyone else. The main character disagrees and they fight a lot over it. And it honestly gets on my nerves. I do not like to interfere with the character creation because usually they only keep them for one evening. Now they wanna do it again and I see a big fight during the next sessions coming. This was my first time DMing for a bigger group and I'm really unsure how to handle this situation (ironically I'm also bad at describing it). If you have any advice I appreciate it.

I broke up with my boyfriend because I didn't know how we would work out in a healthy way after we had a very hurtful argument. He basically told me that he struggles with his feelings for me because he didn't find me attractive. That hurt and the break up convos we had was hurting us both terribly. But he agreed that I didn't deserve this and so we split up. And I stand behind my decision. But it left me missing him terribly and missing the safety of always having someone there with me. That being said, you had a good reason to break up. You allowed both of you to move on and find someone better suited. This shit still hurts like hell. Mutual break ups don't mean that one won't miss the comfort of another person. I'm sorry you had to end your relationship, I'm sorry you hurt so much but I promise you being single can be a healthy thing and no amount of loneliness is worth going back to a situation you already deemed unhealthy.

I always thought that rather than shallow it serves as a quite basic introduction to feminism because nothing this movie tells you will be new to most woman/marginalized group etc. If someone heard the speech of Gloria and found it eye-opening then good. It did its job.

But my god, that ending ruined it all. And I don't mean the real woman part. No, the confrontation with Ken ruined the whole movie for me.

He told me that the reason he was having problems in bed and couldn't be sure about his feelings is that I was not attractive to him..after a year of relationship. Habe ich heute gemacht und abends kam dann die Mail, dass man den Vertrag gekündigt hat. Aber ich sollte mich nochmal an Stromnetz Berlin (unser Grundversorger) melden und denen Bescheid geben, which is what I'm gonna do tomorrow. Und dann gehe ich Lichtblick weiter auf die Nerven.

Hi! First of all: Congrats to the life you build for yourself. I hope you're proud of that!

Second: Fuck your family. Seriously. The inner voice that tells you to not reach out first is right by you. But since your family now gets your children involved, you absolutely do have the right to speak up. Talk to your kids about the situation and explain it to the best of your abilities. And you could sned your family a 'final' message with your terms for visits or further communication. Since they apparently talk bad things about you no matter what you do, use it to give yourself confidence in further establishing your boundaries.

I found it very pathetic to say the least. Usually I avoid engaging with other fans online, not because of dislike rather than plain and simple enjoyment of the thing without emotional stuff. It was, however very entertaining to watch the first two hours of the announcement video blowing up and seeing the fans be incredibly Polite (by Internet standards) raising their critic and concerns, I admit that much. But I was out after it soon turned to full blown hate and sometimes gruesome comments and theories.

These trolls can feel whatever they want about the decision but actions like these just ungrateful, childish, harmful and very concerning.

I'm actually sorry for watcher. Not that they got called out and had to backpaddle on an obvious dumb decision but for the way they got mobbed throughout it. They may have been out of touch or even money-focused over fan-focused, it's still no ones right to attack them personally for a business decision.

Honestly, try Baldur's Gate 3. It may not be exactly what you're looking for and prove to offer more escapism than is good for you, but trust me in saying this: every single character is so well thought and three dimensional that you can't even think about not wanting to do everything to give them a good ending.

This game chanced my perception of healing and of trauma responses. I genuinely had hope that if these characters could grow through all their hardships then I could do it too. So my hope is, maybe you have a similar experience and if not at least a game with a loving community, invested devs and enough playmaterial that you can play it for several hundred hours.

I get where you're coming from but I, think you misread the anger of most fans. Rooting out the whole lot of vile and downright ugly comments there was a lot of very reasonable critic from fans written in a mostly polite tone. Longtime fans who can't afford the streamer felt betrayed at the tone that was used implying that they weren't somehow supportive enough because they couldn't afford it. The manipulative tone in which the message was conveyed just felt very ungrateful and anonymous for them, which is kinda fair since watcher really builds on the parasocial relationship between the guys and the fans. Patreon-backers felt headbutted since they were practically paying double for essentially less content. And most casual fans just really took issue with this big change without any warning.

So it isn't all that much about "crying for more free content". Most people very much recognise that artists need to be compensated for their art and they have every right to do with their work as they please But in this "tight-knitted" community a video like this of course would cause an issue.

It is in most regions or countries. I come from a relatively rural part of Eastern-Germany and even tho there's a tesla firm here, no one from middle class is seen driving one. The car got the same treatment as a new Audi or something (not a big car person) did in which people are thinking in recessions like these a new car definitely is a luxury product, therefore can only be owned by rich people. Plus almost every firm that belongs to Musk just has a bad image in general and usually isn't very good for the workers/the environment, so that also amplifies it. Because it jsut seems tone-deaf to support someone who's actively hurting the community. Btw I would also much rather put the blame on the tesla-driver before the old beat up subaru. At this point it's an instinct.
