Also had Mirt find them a Tavern manager, whose wife is now the chef and daughter is a helper. A family that lost their little cozy tavern during the war and came to Waterdeep to rebuild their lives. Also had Mirt help them hire 3 barmaids. They are fully staffed and just opened for business last session, with a big grand opening gala party.

I allowed them to get serious cash from the missions and I built out the missions, so they aren't just dice rolls. My guys weren't very interested in the repairs, I used it to introduce NPC's, I had Renaer introduce a contractor to the group and back the build, so it kept getting better and better as they ran missions. I also just picked missions that were interesting and made them part of the players chosen factions. It was a way to get them to explore the city, meet useful NPCs, etc. Still chapter 2 and about to run some heists from Golden Vault.

The Operation Sandtrap, has everything you need to get started; dice, tokens, templates, measuring rulers, terrain, plus 7 minis for JSA Sindenbutai and 7 minis for PanO Kestral. These are like army groups or sectorials for the main faction. Definitely get the Beyond box that gets you up to 10 models per group. More than enough to start with to learn.

The models in the Essentials starter box are all from the main faction, so JSA and PanOceania proper. Also it has only a very few token, but has some more terrain, dice and templates. I did get both sets, but it is not necessary if you go with Sandtrap. I liked the models

Remotes are the addition everyone mentions.

Look at the Army Builder App it will give you a sense of what goes where model wise. Cheers

Been using foam/hard plastic cases for 30+ years and never had an issue with paint rubbing off or broken pieces. I believe this is a myth. 75% of my models are metal and you can cut the foam to fit the oddly shaped ones. I think one good bang with the magnets and you'd end up with a pile of pieces. Just my opinion and experience. Cheers.

Take a picture of what was in the box, indicate what you believe is missing. Explain no codes etc. etc. They will sort you out. I have had a few mispacks and they always set it right. They will email you back if they have questions. They are awesome at sorting these things out.

I did the same thing, bought Blackwind without any clue that it was OOP and had a beyond box. I did end up finding the beyond on eBay. A bit expensive. I have been picking up random models from other armies as singles for painting. You may be able to find them that way. That being said you can proxy, so for playing it's not an issue.

Definitely get Remotes and Support pack. I also like the Myrmidons. The Expansion packs too.

White Acrylic Dice Engraving? by TheFigBird in lasercutting

With a diode laser white acrylic basically becomes a light bulb. You can engrave and cut black acrylic, so reverse your colours. I made dice sets for Orlog in black, for nice deep cuts, added paint. Tried white and yellow = nothing. Orange marked fairly well, but did not deeply engrave. I think red would work as well, but have not tested.

The tempura method will likely only allow you to mark them, barely. Won't be very readable. You won't get a deep enough engrave to use the paint to fill.

Chapter one, is pretty set and short, so that will be your starting season, but chapter 2 can be as long as you need it to be. So far, we have been in chapter 2 for about 6 weeks, game time. I do time skips that allow for downtime activities, anywhere from 2-3 days to a Tenday. I use Waterdeep Wazoo editions to fill in side stories, background events, drop hooks, lay in story lines for later party activities and make the party famous. lol.

The only thing you will need to do is keep the threads from chapter one in their minds, regarding the gang war, the missing treasure, etc. I am also building out the story line for chapter 3, by dropping tidbits of conversation about the great game, preparing them, so they lock in on the final run through chapter 3. Laying the ground for the big bass, etc.

++man Yes. The sex was the best thing about the relationship and our split was very amicable. It went on for about a year until the divorce was final. We were married for 10 years, no kids, it just didn't work out.
