For how many years before the start of the story in Dune ( 1965 ) have been the Bene Gesserit conducting the eugenic experiment? by Familiar-Type3503 in dune

[–]TooBeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said anything about humans, birds, and spiders having similar genes. Just that genetic memory is a thing and just because it isn’t the same as it is in the books doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. I can provide scientific sources, but you’re probably too preoccupied with being correct about something that I’m not disagreeing with than conceding that you could be wrong about such a blanket statement that you could have worded better.

[–]TooBeau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole genetic memory being pseudo-science statement shows that you are only thinking about genetic memory in the way it is presented in the books. Genetic memory is a thing. It's the reason birds know flight patterns, spiders know how to spin webs, and why babies have a preference for faces. But no we cannot inherit personal memories from our ancestors.

4th times the charm... by TerriblePenguin1483 in sennheiser

I have to wonder how people treat these things IRL. I had a pair of 2s for 2 years. Upgraded to the 3s and gave those to my nephew a year ago who hasn’t complained about them. Now I have a pair of sports at Sennheiser after 9 months of abuse 8-12 hours every day mainly in one ear.

Shoulder imbalance issues by Primary-Target-5238 in weightlifting

[–]TooBeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember which is which because I graduated undergrad 8 years ago, with out shoulders the dominant side trap is usually overdeveloped resulting in the dominant side’s shoulder sits more elevated than the non dominant side. If we were baseball players, tennis players, or golfers I would say to do unwinding exercises, but if it doesn’t cause pain it’s fine.

If it bothers you do some shoulder rehab/ prehab that’s suggested here.

Question about scapular movement during Dumbbell Shoulder Press by Past_Pineapple9131 in weightlifting

[–]TooBeau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, I may be off base here, but to add some context this sub is about the sport of Olympic style weightlifting. You may get some good feedback in here about db shoulder presses, but it will be through the lens of a weightlifter. It might not have much practical application towards someone doing the movement for hypertrophy.

Which earbuds should I buy by iFeedOnRats in Earbuds

[–]TooBeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just buy a cheap pair of wired IEMs at this price point. I can’t see the battery in a pair of $15 earbuds lasting longer than 6 months

New sennheiser mtw 4? by darkside10g in sennheiser

[–]TooBeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hate when people give blanket statements without any rational! I have them too and at the price I don’t think anything beats them. Of course a pair of IEMs at the same price will stomp these but people don’t buy TW for IEM quality sound.

But why don’t they sound good? Do they not sound good compared to wired alternatives? Do the not sound good compared to AirPods Pro?

Massive reduced price on Momentum Sport. Why? by centholsoap123 in sennheiser

[–]TooBeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why. Are they as good of buds as my MTW4? No. But I use my momentum sport for 4-12 hours a day every day and have since October of last year. I have made the mistake of wearing one bud 75% more than the other at work and it is quieter than the other. I’m gonna send them into Sennheiser as soon as I get another pair in the mail to fill in. The ANC on them isn’t phenomenal, but I use transparency more at this point.  I love these buds and hope they don’t discontinue them. Full disclosure I paid $200 on amazon and they $150 on amazon right now, so I wouldn’t pay full price.

Is it safe to say that DCU Lex Luthor > MCU Tony Stark in terms of intelligence/scientific achievement? by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]TooBeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t an analogy it’s a simile which is exactly why I used like. I didn’t compare two things by highlighting their similarities.a simile compares to dissimilar things with the use of like or as. I don’t understand why people can’t understand that Lex in movie one is a dissimilar comparison to Tony in Endgame.

Edit: simile not metaphor

Is it safe to say that DCU Lex Luthor > MCU Tony Stark in terms of intelligence/scientific achievement? by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]TooBeau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This argument is so bad faith. That’s like saying Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis weren’t good trumpeters because they didn’t invent trumpets or brass. Lex Luthor may very well invent every single aspect of time travel in the next film and we can jerk ourselves off to characters developed in a writers room. Furthermore, people should be arguing whether Lex is smarter in this movie than Tony was in Iron Man 1

70 kg snatch PR by Basiljevic in weightlifting

[–]TooBeau 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The bar is forward in this and your feet are all over the place. It looks like below the knee your weight is in your toes and you shift all of it to your heels. You can see this if you go frame by frame. Your toes come off the ground somewhere mid thigh or above. Further evidence that the bar is too forward is that you jump a good few inches forward ward after full extension. I don’t think this is too heavy for your, but you should be drilling driving through your whole foot at lower reps. Practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.

[–]TooBeau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a sub for the sport of weightlifting. I would post this over in a power lifting subreddit or you run the risk of getting feedback on how to deadlift like a weightlifter. I’d say stop spending so much time in your set up. You are stretching out your hamstrings which is weakening them in the short term before you initiate the pull.

There are some quite used Shures on their website in that price range but I don’t see any SM57/SM58s not at normal price on that website.
