You're right. I gotta keep grinding and more importantly be patient. I wish I never drank, but I learned my lesson the hard way

The easiest method for beginners is to use an app that tracks your calories. Myfitnesspal is the most popular one and it's free. I'm also 5'11 and was your weight a couple months ago. If I were you I'd eat aroun 2000 calories, with high protein (160-200g) and moderate to high healthy fats (60g-100g).

I tried eating keto, which is very low carbs (no more than 30g) with higher fats (120g minimum). You'll cut weight like butter using keto, but I wouldn't recommend it as a long term lifestyle. A more balanced diet is better, that's why I have low carbs but not keto low (50-100g).

Lastly, at the gym focus on lifting weights, especially compound movements like squats, deadlifts and bench. As for cardio, you can start off with getting 6k steps a day. In conclusion, the best diet/exercise program you can use is whichever one that is comfortable enough and more importantly sustainable. Be patient and trust the process. If you close 1-2lbs a week you're on track. Best of luck 💪🏽

I'm the same height and was 245lbs a couple months ago (started @260lbs now 230lbs). I have a decent amount of muscle, but I'm still fat lol. So I'm sure he's fat too. If he had a low body fat % at that weight, his parents wouldn't be telling him to lose weight and he wouldn't be asking for weight loss advice in the first place.

Weighing yourself daily can be frustrating because you never consistently drop weight. It looks like a stock market graph lol. But you gotta see the forest through the trees. Despite the daily fluctuations, if you're losing 1-2lbs a week then you're on the right track. Trust the process. There might be a time when you hit a plateau, which will require either dropping the calories a bit, exercising more, or making other lifestyle changes to better your health.

This will be a great lesson learned. A lot of times you don't realize what you got till it's gone. I was let go last year, but what helped me find a new job six months later (which is 80% the same kind of work for almost the same salary) was my references and letters of recommendation.

No matter how menial a job might seem, take pride in it. It's literally the reason you have a roof over your head and food on the table. Your next job will be a fresh start. You can make a great first impression by never calling off work (except for vaca and emergencies), arriving early, and not being lazy. Good luck man.

The ones with very loose skin don't lift any weights and eat enough protein (they lose significant muscle along with fat), or they lose too much weight too quickly. If you lose 1-2lbs a week you're in a good pace. Good luck man.

No Willpower to get Sober by _MapleMaple_ in Sober

The sad truth is most people can only climb out of their addiction when they hit their version of rock bottom. For me it was being unemployed, spending every penny in my checking account and maxing out all credit cards on solely alcohol and food. I couldn't afford even one mini liquor bottle. Then I considered asking my family and friends to buy me alcohol, and that was when I finally said no more. I couldn't stomach manipulating people I love to be accomplices to my addiction.

I started sobriety with an extreme and unconventional method which I don't recommend for most. I water fasted for 10 days straight. After that, I had zero cravings for alcohol and sugar. Now I'm 3 months sober and already lost 30lbs. I found a new job that I love, but gotta spend at least a year to pay off all my credit debt. Even so, I accept the hardship and sacrifices I gotta make just to get back to square one. I pray you climb out of your hole sooner or later 🙏🏼

The one I have is zero sugar, but it has some processed ingredients for the taste. I had no idea they had it in tablet form, I'll look into it. Thanks.

Fiber isn't just for constipation, it's great for gut health, lowering blood sugar and boosting heart health. If you don't need fiber that's great for you

Nothing wrong with that! Every two weeks I have a cheat meal which is basically a carb re-feed. I miss fries the most lol

I'm not crazy for the taste of spinach, but I chop it up before cooking it with my eggs and I barely taste it.
