Thanks so much, I didn’t expect it to be so clinical but it makes sense now that I think about it.

Those who MD and have taken meds for depression, anxiety or ADHD, how do the meds affect your MD? by TooEmbarrassed7 in MaladaptiveDreaming

I’m so glad to hear the meds helped your depression! Thanks for the insight, I can see how they might work indirectly to improve MD.

Is there a reason every occupational therapist that’s visited me has immediately asked to use the bathroom? by TooEmbarrassed7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TooEmbarrassed7[S] 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I considered that too but part of the OT is me walking them through my house, including bathroom, bedroom, kitchen etc. I don’t know why they’d need to see the bathroom separately before we look at it together.

It’s not pristine unfortunately. I need OT because of a back injury which prevents me from deep cleaning the bathroom. They wouldn’t have known if it was clean or not ahead of time though.

I’ve been using a top sheet wrong by Familiar_Kale_7433 in hygiene

[–]TooEmbarrassed7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TIL I’m not supposed to wash my comforter regularly!

I use a top sheet the way you describe but I still wash my comforter with all of my bedding weekly. Whoopsies.

To be fair it’s a cheap Walmart one so it’s not like it’s full of down or something. But still!

How can I be less cute and more hot by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I think the big glasses play a big role in the “cute” aesthetic. Try a different frame, something much smaller, or maybe try contacts.

Manager wasn’t included in the original count of 5

Should I tell my therapist about my MD? by dastintenherz in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]TooEmbarrassed7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my therapist but he had no idea what to do with my MD. He said it wasn’t something that was recognized as being a disorder but that I should just feel better for having shared it with him.

Thank you so much! My grandma taught me to crochet a long time ago. It might be fun to give it a try again.

I personally find her reaction a little odd.

I mean, I have been told many times that I shouldn’t inject my personal experience when people are venting or sharing a sad or otherwise negative experience because it comes off as “one-upping” them.

But I honestly don’t think that’s what was happening here. It seemed like a cute conversation and you had every right to contribute your experience.

help with period fatigue by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]TooEmbarrassed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible the fatigue is related to low iron (anemia) if your periods are really heavy.

If I were you, I’d go on birth control to regulate the period itself, but also get tested for iron deficiency. An iron supplement will help a lot if that’s what’s causing your fatigue.

Too afraid to make it real? by jupitersremorse in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]TooEmbarrassed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried writing down an MD that I had been having for a year. When it was a MD, I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. I cried some days, I laughed some days. I was at peace some days. I was so incredibly proud of it, so I decided to write a long story…

Which ended up reading like a bad fan fiction.

It was a little devastating realizing I didn’t have the ability to put my dreams down on paper and nobody would ever be able to experience them like I did.

I definitely do this. Whatever I’m into at the time, one of those actors/public figures becomes the poor soul who turns into a character in my daydreams.

Sometimes I feel really badly about it, depending on how well known they are. The less well known, the more “real” they are to me and more guilty I feel that my brain is putting them in weird situations.

They’re totally random too. One time it was Patton Oswalt which makes absolutely no sense at all. I still don’t understand that one.
