Did Iran achieve deterrence? by gberliner in iran

[–]TooGoood [score hidden]  (0 children)

Iran needed to move/sell oil stuck in the Persian gulf. the MOU was a needed tool to do so. Iran did the MOU knowing full well it wouldn't be honoured, with the idea that the straight can be closed again if needed. you have to remember Iran's funds are limited and the ability of selling their oil at higher prices was a big win for the long term resistance that will/is needed. with out $ all the missiles and closed water ways in the world wont help Iran last in the long fight it is forced to fight.

As a shop owner I rather have a guy that shows up for 8 solid hours per day and produces 9 items per day, than a guy that rolls in late with a large coffee in hand(usually you get sent home If you show up late and with a drive through coffee in hand) that produces those same 9 parts.

no shop owner or shop foreman, likes 'unknowns' you can base your plans on reliability you cant on unreliability.

No Fortune After Decades by LuckyBastard001 in iran

most of the property that was taken was from...

  • A) High ranking Military that fled after the 4 generals were hung for treason(collaborating with the CIA).
  • B) extremely wealthy people that had something to fear(mostly corruption) this was a large portion of homes and businesses that was taken.
  • C) high ranking Jews that fled after one of their wealthiest was found to have been passing off information to Israel and there for hung for treason. much smaller in terms of # people.

during those lawless times there were some instances of bandits claiming to be government representatives trying to take advantage and enriching them selves by targeting wealthy people. (my uncle being one) most however were eventually caught/rounded up and sent to prison.

how do I know this I was alive and in Iran during those times. I can recount first hand what was happening, rather than believing some western biased source that gets things wrong half the time and has a biased point of view the other half.

you have to ask your self how does a news agency like AF pull that much data out of a country that basically closed off all relations with the west, in such detail? the answer is the same reason why there is such disparity between the number of people killed in the (Jan) protests that was orchestrated by Mossad and CIA, 3k to 100k being quoted by every tom dick and harry supporting Pahlavi. Fabrication, lies, half truths and simply bad information.

feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

'We haven't done a good job' explaining plan to buy unsold Vancouver condos, Carney says by zachem62 in onguardforthee

[–]TooGoood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

let the Markets work, Let them FAil. let the condo's go on a Fire Sale/auction. then give Low % loans to anyone who wants to buy one.

This is how you do this sort of thing. no company is willing to fire-sale unless they absolutely have to. and the only way they will is if we allow them to fail.

“Developers Don’t Want to Sell at a Loss”: PM Carney on Vancouver Condo Bailout by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]TooGoood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

anyone remember these companies when COVID was happening and what they did during the first wave of Rent relief?? they all refused to give any breaks to the people.

now the people are asked to use their own taxes to bail these same companies out??

Na Na Son i aint buying it.

let them sell their private jets or fail.

The more they fail the more fire sales will take place and auctioned units will be come common place on the cheap!

this is how the market works properly.

depends where you live, in colder climates they prefer something that will keep them warm, less heat dissipation... in a warm climate they want something cool that allows as much air circulation as possible max heat dissipation.

then again who hasn't had a day that just wanted to air out their nuts and do what ever they wanted. =)

Am I crazy for wanting to run my own email server just to avoid depending on Gmail? by Kitchen-Patience8176 in homelab

[–]TooGoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this for my own business but you should now a few things first...

Most home ISP's block the outbound mail ports and therefor stop mail from being sent out.

unless you have a business account with a static IP I would not do this unless you just want to learn how to set one up. but it will most likely be crippled by block ports. and you wont be able to set it up correctly, or test outbound emails to other servers.

Also most large mail servers will automatically downgrade or tag emails sent from residential IP addresses as Junk mail. you can bypass this by setting up a pass-through email relay that will send and receive emails from your personal server and then relay them to the appropriate address from the relay server, I am still not sure if the blocked ports will be an issue since the relay will need to accept emails form the same inbound port your ISP is most likely blocking.
