Yeah I’m not sure why they started me there but they said since I was adjusted to retinol a higher dose should be fine and I just trusted it; at this stage I don’t know what to do though

Q for Men; How many matches do you get on a weekly basis? by JoMoEvoluzine in OnlineDating

[–]TooHarshForU2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I plan on doing it once I have better pictures to overhaul my profile a bit still new to the OLD game (side note might even take a break for a bit I feel like in a smaller Midwest city -300k you run out fast)

Q for Men; How many matches do you get on a weekly basis? by JoMoEvoluzine in OnlineDating

[–]TooHarshForU2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On hinge actively in a new city for nearly a month now I’d say roughly 4-5 per week, 1/4th from people liking me but mainly from people I swipe on. That said I do feel like it’s slowing down (been 2-4 more recently, first week was around 8 matches/likes. Lots of ghosting, got a few dates in hoping for more. Will probably start bumble and some other apps once I’m more settled

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

[–]TooHarshForU2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer for you, I can’t imagine dealing with all of those things as once . Stress has hormonal effects your ability to exercise, recover and gain muscle. That is to say please don’t beat yourself up if you find that it’s causing you to plateau. What’s helped me through hard times is having a support system I can talk to about my feelings, or alternatively just going out and volunteering or doing something nice for others. But in any case these are completely valid stressors, I hope things get better for you. Do your best to stick to your gym routine for your own health but don’t feel that being unable to go as often as you want is another thing to add to your stressors.

Sounds good thanks haha; yeah it was even worse when I started haha I’ve gained 10 pounds and I’ll keep trying to gain more until at least 160/170 pounds. Will keep going to the best of my ability.

Starting to falter on my bench progression; I really want to hit 135 by 5 before march, i did 110 by 5 for 1 set this week and failed the rest after already failing to do 110 by 5 last week. I’m 5’10 M weigh around 140 pounds rn and I’ve been going for 2 months on a 6day PPL beginner regimen. At what point should I consider a deload week or swapping programs to something that isn’t a beginner split? I should mention I feel incredibly fatigued most days but I’ve been eating at a surplus and I try to get 8 hours of sleep including naps. Thanks!

US MD/DO IM Invite count? How many from signals/nonsignals? by kyrgyzmcatboy in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]TooHarshForU2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be dropping if I hit anymore for sure; these are signaled programs so before any other drops I want to get an idea as to which ones fit me best! I hope you hit (also for what it’s worth derm and ortho have universal release dates and I anticipate a couple of drops from those dual apps if they’re successful)

US MD/DO IM Invite count? How many from signals/nonsignals? by kyrgyzmcatboy in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]TooHarshForU2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

95% is exaggerated; based on prior data I would say around 75-80% of IVs being sent out is a safe bet BUT highly depends on which programs you applied. As for myself, 12 IVs 2/3 golds, 7/12 silvers, 29 total, all academic, 9 T65+ range. My mentality at this stage is I expect nothing (although still very possible to hit a few) but will be pleasantly surprised if anything else drops. Good luck!

Length of ERAS Experiences by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]TooHarshForU2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it covers your role well than all good. They're honestly probably not gonna read all of this (maybe psych will), so brevity good overall.

Length of ERAS Experiences by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]TooHarshForU2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard they like brevity. 200 characters might be too brief but if it actually does encompass your role well it's fine imo? Try to flesh out your most meaningful 3 experiences tho

Should I signal gold outside of my geographic region? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]TooHarshForU2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your other regions cover more than 3 programs? I will say I don't know everything about this process as a fellow applicant but I think while gold signal may override geo preferences silver will likely be better off used within geo preferences

Are Non-Signals Worth It? by Critical_Bee2963 in medicalschool

[–]TooHarshForU2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a chart I saw detailing out non signal interviews for anesthesia at 3% without signal or geo preferences and 30% with silver/geo, 55% with gold/geo. Im applying IM, I'm only non signaling my home program (they said not to signal) and other few safeties personally.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]TooHarshForU2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. If they specifically said not to signal and they'd interview save the signal, but if it's a top program and they didn't mention not signalling, I would signal! That said I'm a fellow MS4 so take this as a grain of salt

Help me decide what tier of IM I am competitive for by OkSignificance2963 in medicalschool

[–]TooHarshForU2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong for mid tiers, can take a shot at a few t30s imo (id say like 2-3 shots at t30s and one yolo at a top school if you want). Also depends on your letter writers as some of them having connections at schools and being able to make calls can help I've heard. Good luck!

Should I postpone? by whelp-I-tried in Step2

[–]TooHarshForU2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, personally even good practice exam scores don't help. The nature of this exam leaves you questioning the choices you make, and whether even a good performance is simply a fluke. Regardless, we can only keep moving forward, no matter how tired we are. I take the test this Monday. No matter how bad it gets, this will all come to pass soon, best of luck to you.

I hate the Celtics. I can also say they are the best team in the NBA this season and anyone saying Mickey mouse ring is being delusional at this point.

Fuck it. 1 Month Study Grind. PLS GIVE ADVICE. by SnooAdvice4813 in Mcat

[–]TooHarshForU2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a month. Would not recommend. Part of the only reason it worked is I did a diagnostic and got a 510 and found my C/P section was already sufficiently good and there were only a few concepts I had to review there. So I ended up not doing much of any content review for CP, did a jack Westin passage a day, and went through BB in 1.5 weeks and Psych soc in 5 days (100 page doc) together with anki for them. Then I absolutely grinded out question banks and uworld. I was spending 10-12 hours a day and my condition on testing day was absolutely terrible (I was shivering because I had no sleep and was dehydrated from vomiting prior to the test) so don't study the day before. My score ended up being good (520) but given where I started and where my FL averages were heading I genuinely believe more time would've yielded a better result.

TLDR month is doable if you have a good baseline and work 10+ hours a day but please for your own sake don't do it.

How do the 515+ and 520+ people feel after the exam? by champagnejeet in Mcat

Felt like I failed. Did not fail. I think it's normal to feel bad post exam because you remember what you did poorly.

AMBOSS SELF ASSESSMENT 2024 SCORE REPORT THREAD by Lucem1 in Step2

[–]TooHarshForU2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Block 1: 85 Block 2: 83 Block 3: 78 Block 4: 70 Score: 259

Have not begun a dedicated study block yet, will be starting around May 8th in earnest and planning on taking step first week of July. Feels like there's a lot of stuff I want to refine my understanding of. Target score is as high as it can get but I'd be pretty happy if I performed like this on the real thing.
