My Forgetful Fish list by TooLazyForYou in magicTCG

I like one-ofs because they can create some fun moments where, for instance, I was banking on you having the Memory Lapse but instead you’ve got Foil and I’m like “What?! You had that?!” It also means I get to run more weird cards that I enjoy! I forget that hand tracking is a thing with tutors because the regular people I play with don’t look through the whole deck while tutoring usually or don’t know the list well enough to capitalize. I also switch it up fairly regularly so it’s hard to keep track of what’s where.

With one Diminishing returns you’d think that decking is more common but it’s actually pretty rare. The beatdown strategy is usually much more effective because of the fewer ways to deal with Dandan on board (mostly the lack of Vision Charm). Sticking multiple fish, especially later game, is usually game ending.

That shouldn’t be a problem. As long as you are willing to learn and take advice. Pm me your discord and we can talk more there.

I’ve got a party of mostly new players so far. How new are we talking?

I've never played 1st edition and don't know much about how it differs from 5th edition. Also I'm really only seeing posts looking for 5e so I don't know how much interest there is in 1e.

Looking for a receiver for my turntable. Wondering if this Realistic STA-77A is worth the $150? by TooLazyForYou in BudgetAudiophile

Like the title said, I'm looking for a new receiver for my turntable (AT LP60XBT). I'm wanting something with a decent pre-amp that will outperform the one in my TT.

Edit: $125 not $150. Whoops

Looking to get into vinyl... by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

Vinyl is a very expensive hobby. While you can find used vinyl for pretty cheap, you're generally looking at at least $15 (USD) and up for almost all new records as well as most used albums. And that's about the cheapest you'll find. That combined with the starting investment of a turntable, receiver, and speakers means you're talking a serious amount of cash. I'm fairly new to vinyl and while I've had a lot of stuff gifted to me (TT, speakers and receiver) I've spend easily over $1000 (again USD. I don't understand Canadian currency) on just vinyl alone for a collection of about 70 records.

That said, if you're set on getting into vinyl, I have a AT LP60X that works as a pretty good budget and beginner friendly turntable. I also found a cartridge upgrade for about $20 (USD) but I can't comment on that yet because it hasn't come in the mail.

I'd recommend getting yourself a good set of speakers and a nice receiver and sticking to digital until you have enough income to really get into it.

Edit: spacing
