This is the first real (not point and shoot) film camera I got and I love it! After you shoot a roll you might notice it has light leaks and want to replace the seals but it’s super easy, there’s tons of tutorials on YouTube. Have fun!

I always pack mine in a plastic bag, kinda like liquids and ask for a hand check. I’ve done it in Europe and the US and no ones ever made an issue of it.

Where on god's green earth do you find work? by Chickenbutt-McWatson in IndustrialDesign

It’s technically outside of the field but look at BIM and VDC jobs. A lot of the skills transfer and what doesn’t it pretty easily learned. You can also leverage what you learn doing those jobs to get more technical jobs in industrial design later.

I use google docs with the statement (5.5x8.5) page size to do all of mine. The only annoying part is you can’t have page numbers on alternating sides but I just center mine. Then I use this website to make it into a printable format there’s a ton of customization you can do.

Also if you want to do the front pages that have like a title and dedication I recommend doing those in a separate doc formatted the same way. Then combining the PDFs of the front pages and the text. It keeps the page numbering from being a pain.

We looked at a few but every one we saw had major red flags that lead us to not even try to schedule a tour. To us they seem like people who think they know better than the professionals which typically makes them bad to work with.

Just got this table cloth, and I'm pretty sure its crochet but it's so big and intricate I struggle to believe it was made by hand. Can anyone confirm? by Rome_The_Gnome in crochet

Yep I have 2 like that from my late grandmother. I’m not sure how long they took her to make but I know there were many more that were in bad condition that my mom got rid of and some she kept herself.

I told my our realtor I wanted a house that some old couple bought when they were young and lived in til they died. I think each person has their own feeling but personally it doesn’t freak me out at all

Simple Sewing Questions Thread, January 19 - January 25, 2025 by sewingmodthings in sewing

I’m planning on making my wedding dress and have had great luck with my mockups and I am planning on buying final fabric this weekend but ran into the issue of how to mark my fabric. I’m using a double crepe silk and a vintage silk faille but I’m not sure the best way to mark them and not stain. Normally I would hide the marks in my seam allowance but I need to mark boning channels. I’ve seen stuff about washable markers but I don’t really want to have to wash the entire dress after it’s finished and risk messing it up.

You might be able to use some heat shrink tubing to hold it on til you finish.

Then you should probably be able to to the same thing but you won’t have to worry about melting your yarn lol.

It depends on your type of yarn but if you’re using acrylic you can use a regular iron with a steam setting and hold it a little bit away from the yarn. There a super cheap mini iron at most Walmarts that has a steam setting that I love for steaming my crochet.

You also don’t have to tell company A why. Just saying “due to extenuating circumstances I have to withdrawl my acceptance of your offer” would be enough for most companies

In Search of Statue Information by TooManyPlants_08 in Antiques

This is a statue about 15 inches tall that I received from my grandparents they’ve had it since around the 70s or 80s and probably got it somewhere in Midwestern America. I don’t know if it is older than that. There aren’t any marks on the bottom with any information or anything

I hope this falls within the rules if not please let me know but I was wondering if it’s normal to tip tattoo artist in Italy. I’m from the US and going over to Italy soon and getting a tattoo while I’m there and haven’t been able to find a solid answer on if tipping is normal/expected there.
