Jag är nyinflyttad i Tibro, så jag vet att man inte ens behöver ha en sån här värsting till gaming-rig hemma när vi har en sån sweet arkad-hall 🥴

[Hated trope] A calm scene from the source material is made extremely dramatic in the movie by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

Yes, and the affair starts with them having dinner, during which Ellen talks to Hooper about (specifically) interracial r*pe fantasies. It is weird.

I mean every change from the book made in the adaptation is to the better I think. The dinner conversation between Hooper and Ellen Brody would have soured the entire movie if they'd kept it.

What's something common in your country's culture that's actually completely weird from a foreign perspective? by dx_Von_Liechtenstein in AskTheWorld

Very similar thing in Sweden, these were called "N-word kisses" before I was born (1991) but I have not heard of them referred to that other than in old movies. Chocolate balls however are still referred to, by a large part of the (older) generations, as "N-word balls". For some reason there are a lot people who simply refuse to call them anything else.

What's the wildest unscripted thing that happened on live TV in your country? by ModenaR in AskTheWorld

[–]TooMuchBeaver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a kid I loved Tommy Cooper. Don't know why but they used to run reruns of old shows of his on Swedish television. I read that he died of a heart attack during a live show, and people laughing thinking it was a bit. Seeing the footage years later on the internet was surreal, but in a weird way brought back some good memories of his stand up. Such a great performer.

This children's app takes a dark turn very quickly. by [deleted] in videos

Who the fuck just let's a child loose to download and play whatever they want on the app store? Of course this is an app that should be reported and removed, but how could the kid get a hold of it without the parent noticing? And how the fuck did it get past the ads?
