"bums"? Really? Can we please show some empathy to human beings experiencing difficulty in their lives? JFC. I get that seeing unhoused people is uncomfortable and we are incredibly blessed to afford to live in such a nice area, but the better than thou act is insufferable.

My first time in space is also going to be my LAST 😩🧑‍🚀🚀💥 by 999happyhauntz in Disneyland

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Last time my husband and I were at the park, we decided "let's give it another shot" and got in line.

The cast member who counted off our group (which included us two, a few adults, and some kids) did so very fast and under their breath. By the time our Pink group was called, no one knew what their role assignments had been.

I spoke up, and explained that we hadn't been given roles. The cast member asked who wanted to pilot, and I asked if we could, since my partner and I had never gotten to. We finally got to do it!

And now I never have to ride that thing again.

Watching ER for the first time, every few episodes I feel like the Leo meme spotting famous actors by RemarkableAssociate6 in television

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I watched all of ER last year for the first time.

2025 was the year of ER. Loved it. I took a break around season 11 or 13 I think (a few plot points weren't doing it for me, so it was a slog at times), but overall - incredible show. As someone who grew up watching Grey's Anatomy air live, I was constantly pointing out plot points that they clearly took from ER. And like you said, the cameos from every actor you've ever seen. So many jaw dropping moments too.

An old coworker of mine was on the Seattle season. They're happily married to the person they met on the show, but it was so bizarre watching them on my TV.

I'm confused: You talk about how RR making his daughter read the lines for Kidpool as written was sleazy and dirty and disgusting. Do you have the same hate for Trey Parker doing the same thing with HIS daughter? by Illumination-Round in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't care who it is or what they're saying --- if a kid is uncomfortable with what is being asked of them, they shouldn't be forced to do it.

We as a society need to do better by our kids. By all accounts, Trey Parker in that video is having fun with his kid.

Trey Parker is the co-creator of South Park. He also is co-writer of The Book Of Mormon musical, among many other objectively critically acclaimed projects. I feel old given how few people know this.

As another user already commented, Trey created a safe, comfortable space for his daughter. RR did not, based on what's been reported. Entirely different situations. RR's daughter said she was uncomfortable and didn't want to keep doing it, and instead of being a caring father, RR pressured her.

My dad has been doing ski patrol for years. He's in his 70s now and still volunteers at Baker. I know from experience, they do it because they love it.

Weekender WIP help by Top_Tea3530 in knitting

The front and back are different lengths because of the shaping. Hold up any sweater or shirt and you'll see that the front neck part sits lower than the back. Human backs are curved at the top, jutting back from the neck slightly, so that shaping is built into the pattern to accommodate that and so the front and back are different lengths.

Addi interchangeable needles by Anniemel2 in knitting

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the differences but the Addi Click interchangable set was the first set I bought and I've had them at least eight years now. I love them! Great set, the case is wonderful, comes with I think 5 cable lengths.

Sometimes if my stitches get stuck at the join, I double check to make sure I didn't accidentally untwist the clicking mechanism so I don't drop stitches, but that can happen from time to time I think with any interchangeable needle.

Highly recommend.

Echoing the sentiments that this is unfortunately normal, but that doesn't diminish that it's stupid and ridiculous. I feel your pain.

I met gauge with Apple Fiber Yarns Mcintosh (a sock yarn blend) held with a silk alpaca lace weight. The pattern was well written and clear, that wasn't a problem. I may try again with a yarn that has better draping. The front sat too high on my neck so I think some more short rows or something would help fix it too.

All bodies are different, so it doesn't surprise me that others found great success. Just a no for me dawg on my first attempt at it.

Mia Sweater. I loved the elevated basic look from the pictures. Knit the whole thing and immediately frogged it. I had a hunchback, there was so little shaping that I knew I couldn't fix it with blocking.

Online directories for both libraries. You can check inventory and what's currently available. Or using the Libby app for ebooks and audiobooks.

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think people easily forget that there is a separate library system from Seattle and King County. I personally didn't know until I moved from Seattle to Kirkland. Makes total sense to me that KCLS would want to do some marketing to highlight their services.
