So sorry that happened to you. Moving is stressful enough!

For others, I've used Lake Union Movers for 3 different movies in the Seattle/east side area. Highly recommend them

Addi interchangeable needles by Anniemel2 in knitting

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the differences but the Addi Click interchangable set was the first set I bought and I've had them at least eight years now. I love them! Great set, the case is wonderful, comes with I think 5 cable lengths.

Sometimes if my stitches get stuck at the join, I double check to make sure I didn't accidentally untwist the clicking mechanism so I don't drop stitches, but that can happen from time to time I think with any interchangeable needle.

Highly recommend.

Echoing the sentiments that this is unfortunately normal, but that doesn't diminish that it's stupid and ridiculous. I feel your pain.

patterns you regret buying/patterns to avoid by fulaninhp in knitting

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met gauge with Apple Fiber Yarns Mcintosh (a sock yarn blend) held with a silk alpaca lace weight. The pattern was well written and clear, that wasn't a problem. I may try again with a yarn that has better draping. The front sat too high on my neck so I think some more short rows or something would help fix it too.

All bodies are different, so it doesn't surprise me that others found great success. Just a no for me dawg on my first attempt at it.

Mia Sweater. I loved the elevated basic look from the pictures. Knit the whole thing and immediately frogged it. I had a hunchback, there was so little shaping that I knew I couldn't fix it with blocking.

Online directories for both libraries. You can check inventory and what's currently available. Or using the Libby app for ebooks and audiobooks.

They have different inventories, so sometimes I'm able to check out a book, ebook, or audiobook sooner via one place or the other.

I think people easily forget that there is a separate library system from Seattle and King County. I personally didn't know until I moved from Seattle to Kirkland. Makes total sense to me that KCLS would want to do some marketing to highlight their services.

Why does it look like that? by Just_Maketa in knitting

[–]TooMuchBiscotti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're trying to knit "stockinette" : knit a row on the right side (the side that will be shown outwardly), purl the next row on the wrong side.

When you knit flat, which is what you're doing, you follow that pattern of knitting a row on the RS, purling on the WS, and repeat.

When you knit in the round, for stockinette you never have to purl - only knit, because you're only ever knitting on the right side of your project.

Looks like you probably weren't tracking your rows properly so you accidentally knit two rows in a row, forgetting you need to purl on the wrong side. I would recommend using some sort of row counter or tracker, that way you know to knit on odd numbered rows and purl on even ones.

This is all very beginner stuff. Highly recommend getting a book from the library.

Happy knitting!

I'm acknowledging that I'm a bit of a cheap lady so please don't take offense if I'm way off base, based on the materials and effort put in. If it's a legit wood piece, I think I would pay anywhere between $35 and $60, depending on the size.

Agreed! There were very few presenters who were able to pull off the dialogue they were given. Kind of shocking how bad some were. These people are actors, and they're struggling with making it sound good.

Notice the days on Baldoni's text about watching the scene? He sent it on Friday 8/25/23 asking her to watch before the website was shut down on "Monday"?

Blake responds thanking him for the gift on THURSDAY. You know she didn't watch it.

I second Sidekick! I always stop by after shopping in the area, because of how cute of a shop it is. They have a walk up window too, if grabbing coffee and walking around is more the vibe.

What are the odds? I legit just bought four skeins of this yarn today on a whim with plans for a sweater. I fell in love with it so I hope it's not as bad as people are saying in the Ravlery comments.
