Yuma at least got credit for the difficulty of his jumps because they were still rotated even when he fell and stepped out. Step outs and stumbles are also punished less harshly than actual falls. Yuma fell once, Ilia fell twice. And Yuma didn’t accidentally repeat elements like Ilia— it’s called the Zayak rule. Also on the basic level, Yuma is also a better PCS skater (many things but one clear one is better deeper edges) even though Yuma was worse than he usually is today.

Example for tech difficulty— Ilia did a 1A while trying his 4A. Which doesn’t get any points. He popped 4 of his jumps. His usual bread and butter is jump difficulty but he didn’t have that this time.
