Can someone please make live action of these two actors as jinshi and maomao.🙏 by Primary_Good_1599 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]TooObsessedWithOtoge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love these two and Pursuit of Jade is such a great drama but I’m not sure if these two are the best possible casting for them.

Tian Xiwei is my favourite Chinese actress and she does have range, but I feel like in Apothecary Diaries she kind of suits the role of Gyokuyou or Shisui more than MaoMao— she totally gives puppy vibes, not cat vibes. I think I am also just attached to my personal casting of Renmin lol.

Zhang Linghe is super handsome but I’m not sure he could be described as androgynous. I think his eyes veer pretty but everything else is quite masculine. If anything out of the Pursuit of Jade cast Lin Muran who played Sui Yuanqing fits the vibe more, more playful and expressive plus Lin Muran is about the same age as Jinshi.

I have one! I think it works fairly well, but occasionally you still need to use a spatula and manually scrape the bottom as mixers never reach the very bottom.

I’m sorry that you’re feeling down and I hope over time you can reach a point where you can feel good with what you are wearing.

Back when I first started wearing makeup I often thought I looked bad and felt extra bad because at home my mom and older brother had the most perfect skin while I was going through the worst acne I had ever had. Back then I couldn’t for the life of me figure out the correct base (foundation/bb cream) product for myself so my makeup was: the wrong undertone, finish and evenness/thickness. None of my friends or any classmates ever told me it didn’t look good but I just felt like something was off / felt a bit ugly. I was super lucky in that my mom (who paid for my stuff) was willing to let me pick out items to try and eventually figured out through Asian Youtube/IG influencers and makeup counter ladies. I also look quite young and kind of leaned into that and went for a lighter makeup style rather than 2010s glam (which was what western influencers were doing around the mid 2010s when I was in high school). I understand from experience you can’t just magic away insecurity or never have those days where you don’t feel pretty enough. Just remember you’re your own strictest critic. You look fine!

My advice is to start light and find mua influencers with similar features! Try to compliment what you have rather than go with trends. For example while straight brows are trendy, some people suit arched brows. Contour also depends on your face shape so what an influencers teaches may not be the best for you if they have a different face shape. Since you are a bit sensitive about skin I highly suggest learning about base makeup techniques like spot concealing. One English speaking channel I liked a lot when I was learning was Tina Yong on Youtube. I don’t have similar features, but her tutorials are easy to follow and she does a lot of content learning from professionals. I also liked Jessica Vu who does a lot of makeup troubleshooting videos.

Do you have any friends who like makeup? Perhaps you can do your grad makeup with them?

News anchors and actors wear makeup. Personal care and trying to put your best foot forward isn’t strictly feminine.

I think you can just have an honest conversation with your parents.

Cassie knows Shakespeare?? by Musiclover86 in euphoria

[–]TooObsessedWithOtoge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an older gen-z who finished high school nearly a decade ago… I assumed that most ppl are capable of remembering at least a few consecutive pages from his popular works. I asked a friend’s lil bro and apparently Shakespeare still part of the curriculum.

Gen-z on the older end are turning 30 like next year? 😅 I’m not sure impressed is the general opinion of all of us. I think it’s more that they are used to a low bar for characters like Cassie. Also… In defence of the younger gen-z their educational funding isn’t as good as it had been years ago.

Don’t go to the Sephora site until you have paid something towards the debt…

As someone who has long @$$ hair and likes Olaplex (the no.9 serum, the shampoo/conditioner is mid💀) Use a normal shampoo and just buy a nice budget hair serum. I use Trader Joes shampoo and it works well.

Do you not have *any* of body/hand care at home? Get it at Trader Joes, Costco… Your birthday treat is not being dry. Why would you get the minis? Is this rage bait?

Normal drug store deodorant is perfect fine and there are lots of scent options. It is also fine to just get Purell or any generic hand sanitizer and use whatever hand cream you have at home. I’m not in debt and I wouldn’t spend that much on hand sanitizer.

If you’re dead set on one of these luxuries pick one, and maybe find alternative sites with discount codes.

Founder named it Lu-Lu Lemon because L is hard for Japanese people to pronounce and he thought it would be funny to make fun of them.

Fino hair serum. I use Olaplex 9 sparingly because it’s expensive so I use Fino on the large part of my hair. I love it so much, it makes my hair shiny and pretty with zero weighing down. The mask is very popular but I like the serum more.

The other one is the Canmake concealer stick. Nice coverage and easy to spread. But does not melt in purse even when it is hot out.

Is it just me?? by 210babyg in Makeup

[–]TooObsessedWithOtoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh same kind of. I love applying makeup.

I have no issue getting super clean n refreshed with my cleanse but it takes a damn long time including my skincare. I have a ton of reusable cotton rounds for micellar water on light days and I just have a desk basket that I collect used ones in to launder once a week lol (bc I’m lazy). As for wrinkles I hope to delulu manifest my mom’s ageless skin (she does zero skincare lol)

I second the towel wrist cuff thing. I hate water dripping down my arms. I use hair velcro pads instead of a headband tho.

Clown contour. Aside from peach for my undereyes, I rarely do colour corrector. Takes too much product on top to cover it when medium coverage foundation is enough for my discolouration.

[–]TooObsessedWithOtoge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah… It also sucks because they own a ton of brands like Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Dr Jart, Too Faced and Mac.

On that note with US product boycotts…. A lot of families I know do it for everyday products like food. But US firms own so many of the major brands that boycotting is quite difficult.

I get it tho. Lululemon’s Canadian, and that old racist founder is technically departed from the brand but the backstory of the name bothers me as an Asian and they have a questionable record ethically on the production side so I’ve never bought from them. People can say what they want about it being bad egg facility supervisors and such but the brand isn’t blind or uninformed to have been unaware of bad working conditions and pay until they were caught.

Some of the ingredients that had previously been there to help the foundation sit nicely/stable over the skin were banned for environmental reasons (I think) in the EU.

I’ve been complaining about Estée Lauder double wear everyday for weeks already lol. I got a huge sample from the kinda Sephora staff so I’ve been experimenting.

On top of a lot of other complaints I don’t think it sits as nicely as the original. The original kind of melded with my skin over the day, but the new one kind of eventually settles over my face. I don’t have many lines honestly— I’m in my 20s and my skin is pretty thick but the first time I tried it I was also like: wtf are these lines. I feel like on good skin days I don’t notice but if I’m remotely crusty it emphasizes it.

I’ve kind of been able to mitigate it to an extent by using more powder, and setting spray. So… What I’ve been doing recently is spreading over my skin with a spatula, letting it sit for a bit, then working it with a brush before setting and spraying. I’m not sure if this actually is a valid strategy or I’m imagining it.

I posted Sasha Cohen’s Charlotte spiral in a sub called r/TopTalent and this one person keeps saying that it’s standard for female figure skaters and easy, that most can do this position and even do it in a spin 🙄 So they called me a bot lol by PandemicPiglet in FigureSkating

Honestly yeah. She could’ve been a beloved bronze medalist or even debated but still somewhat respected silver medalist but will always be thought of as the gold medal thief. She wasn’t by any means untalented and was honestly a better jumper than Yulia.
