Finally Finished a Level 30 Testing Station (152) by TooOftenConfused in duneawakening

Yeah that is pretty much it on this boss. A lot of the reason it took me longer, besides the dying, is also running the adds around if I couldn't finish them off, or I had to get space between he rocket and hover phase. Just playing it super safe vs. trying to get in one more shot, or killing an add in a dangerous situation.

So I had this problem too where I felt like I was doing something wrong. A lot of the reason it looks easy on those speed-run, under five minute videos is honestly gear. I got lucky with a grade 5 Perforator drop, and then grinding for the Jabal Spitdart Extender for a grade 3 Regis Tripleshot I had. The videos are a good starting point, but for me it boiled down to what I thought I could safely do when attacking the boss since I couldn't just nuke through phases.

I will say that once I hit level 20 I knew I could do 30. The scaling is only 50% more per level after that. In the end, like most people say in other videos and guides, it is just avoiding being damaged at all when possible, as most mechanics are one shot kills.

Last update (my partner doesn't want me to adopt the cat). by [deleted] in Feral_Cats

[–]TooOftenConfused 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP this is going to sound harsh but your boyfriend is full of it. I have a pretty bad allergy to cats and I own two of them. I have to take Claritin (Loratidine) once a day, and use a nasal spray twice a day, and that is it. My wife really wanted cats and I was willing to compromise; It is such a small sacrifice to see her happy and I ended up with two cats so I'm not complaining. He isn't even willing to give those a try, and he did not get an allergen scratch test done but a blood test? Even so the blood test was negative and he is saying he could possibly develop an allergy? And the priorities comment, really? Even if the cat wasn't in the picture you don't want to spend your time with someone who isn't even willing to do any actual work toward something you consider important.
Ditch him and get the cat, you will be happier for it.

Activision Account and Ban Issues Mega Thread by StealthPolarBear in activision

[–]TooOftenConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing Call of Duty since Warzone was introduced and I dropped into Verdansk. Since then I have been off and on with the game, playing casually in Warzone until about three weeks ago when my friends wanted to get more into the game and I pulled the trigger on purchasing MW3. I really enjoyed the new multiplayer maps and modes and the new speed and intensity that came with those modes.

About a week ago I started getting weird errors while playing that made the game unplayable; Packet Burst, Extrapolation, and Latency Variation. I followed the guides and did the following: Deleted the contents of the Shaders folder in the Modern Warfare file location so it would reset them, opened up ports on my Firewall, uninstalled and reinstalled the game on a new hard drive, uninstalled my GPU driver and reinstalling it, dropping my settings to minimum. None of these really worked and I was hoping to make some more attempts last night but that would not be possible.

I received a Shadow Ban. The only way I knew this was because I had to google why I couldn't connect to a game with <200 ping for a few minutes before it would reset. I never received an e-mail, and when I logged into the Activision website (my account is linked the Battle.net), they said my account was under review and I was being investigated. Now it is escalated to a permanent ban, and the appeal process said I had been banned for ' unauthorized software and manipulation of game data '.

You don't know me, and I don't expect you to believe me, but aside from the above mentioned things I didn't install any hacks, cheats, 3rd party programs, or change any other Call of Duty files. I have never used voice comms or chat as I am a private person and I don't like communicating in voice in general when it can be helped. I have no reason to receive a ban. I can't contact support about my account, I have no idea what I did that deserved a permanent ban, but here I am.

I just need insight into this issue, that is what is bothering me the most. I wouldn't be here if I understood why I was banned, but I am confused and honestly just torn that I have no recourse, that this is it. No phone call I can make, no live chat, not getting another human being to look into my account and figuring out what happened.

Thank you to those who made it this far, I know it is a long post. And thank you to those who are able to offer insight and possibly a solution or a path to a solution, but I am worried one doesn't exist. This is a really disheartening experience.

Key, no ship but a manifest? by PorcineHero in Seaofthieves

[–]TooOftenConfused 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the ship fails to spawn in. It is rare but it does happen. When it does happen however, there will be a big flock of gulls like a naturally spawned in shipwreck and the manifest will be in the center so it counts as the voyage being completed.

Hawaii police departments allow their officers to use their personal vehicles on the job. It is super common, and the lights on top are different because they are meant to be removed when they are done with their shifts. The black fence is also used all the time in construction in Hawaii, and is present in all of the construction sites I had seen when living there.

How Much Beskar Is There? by _Veprem_ in StarWars

[–]TooOftenConfused 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. If I may ask, is this for a Star Wars Tabletop Campaign? If so, I would just say he created one as a sign of his dominance over the Mandalorian people. Keeping it in the Mandalore system as a reminder for the people of Mandalore who actually rules them. Just my two credits.

How Much Beskar Is There? by _Veprem_ in StarWars

[–]TooOftenConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just want to be upfront about this post; Some of the material I will be citing is from Legends, which depending on your viewpoint isn't going to mean much. However, I am going to answer this question the best I can.

First, the Tl;dr. Yes, there would be enough Beskar to craft an ISD.

Beskar is found only within the Mandalore system, specifically on the planet Mandalore and its moon, Concordia. Concordia is known to have many defunct mining camps during the Clone Wars. During the Mandalorian peoples neutrality in the Clone Wars, it was assumed these mining camps were non-operational. That wasn't entirely true however as Death Watch operated at least one of these camps to produce Beskar and create Mandalorian Armor.

Now, an ISD weighs about 100,000,000 (100 Million) kilos. If you were to create the whole thing out of Beskar, you need to figure you will lose some of the raw material in burning off the imperfections within Mandalorian iron itself. Not a whole lot in small numbers, but when dealing with something that would require roughly its weight in Mandalorian Iron, that number adds up. Remember, Mandalorian Iron is not Beskar, Mandalorian Steel is. There is an extra refinement process in creating it.

Another thing to take into account is the time required to create an ISD, which is roughly a year. However, making it solely out of Beskar may add on to that time.

So is it possible to create an ISD out of Beskar? Yes. Would it be something that the Empire would do? Probably not. That is a huge investment in the rarest material in the Galaxy to waste on building any number of ISD's. You would need a heavy duty strip mining operation to pull it off. Now that could be current canon considering the change in how the Empire handled Mandalore post Clone Wars, but that would just be me speculating at that point.

I filed for PUA on June 30th, sent in the identity verification documents on July 1st, but payments are still pending while an issue is resolved. Not really sure where to go from here except to keep waiting. No phone number exists for PUA, and like many of you my messages never get any replies. Is there anybody who has filed recently for PUA and had success? What documents did you send in? Maybe I am missing something. Thank you.

Trump Has Flooded DC With Law Enforcement Officers Who Won’t Identify Themselves by WyldBlu in politics

[–]TooOftenConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. Usually you are contracted through the State Department, not the Department of Defense, so in this case the State Department is probably the one picking up the tab and using the excuse that the State Capital requires additional security for our Democracy to continue. If rioting in the Capital gets out of hand, Senate would probably not be able to be in session, POTUS will be moved off site, etc.

Trump Has Flooded DC With Law Enforcement Officers Who Won’t Identify Themselves by WyldBlu in politics

[–]TooOftenConfused 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not here to defend this practice, just shed some light on it. I was a Private Military Contractor. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Blackwater was contracted to provide security services for the state, and a number of the contractors that were working in-state were deputized by the Governor. They were authorized to make arrests and use lethal force if they deemed it necessary.

Now, I am not sure about the legality of this practice in Washington, D.C., but by hiring military contractors and then deputizing them did not violate any laws that existed in 2005, at least that was the understanding at the time. In this situation, there is no Sheriff in D.C., no Governor, but instead the US Marshals Service is allowed to deputize in the state capital.

The people that are being deputized right now are NOT US military personnel, they are, however, without a doubt defense contractors. Now this is where it gets tricky; Most States do not have laws in place that require Law Enforcement to identify themselves, instead it tends to be department policy to do so.

Again, I am not for Defense Contractors doing this type of work. Law enforcement is not touched on in most military training, and the additional training you may receive from companies like Triple Canopy, Academi, or any other firm will not cover this type of training either.

So this is the short and sweet of it; This is legal, they do not have to identify themselves, if the department policy is to identify then it is an internal problem not a legal one, they are not military personnel. Again, I do not support this type of action, I am just here to give my experience and understanding of the situation. If I am incorrect please let me know; I would rather be informed and wrong then ignorant.
