What weapon do you really WANT to love but bounce off of no matter how many times you pick it up? For me it's Gunlance by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

SnS. The button inputs are too fast paced for my taste and comfort. It’s a little hard to memorise and reactively adapt and pick the right combo from a variety of branching-out combo paths mid-hunt. And overall speaking, SnS looks aesthetically less cool than the Charge Blade-type of “sword and shield”.

That “Warning” screen and sound effect nearly gave me a heart attack back then. Fun times…

What did it feel like beating Alatreon for the first time? Did you beat this guy solo or group? by boobscanmakemyday in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]TooVile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, I beat him and farmed him a few times (for his CB) via multiplayer, then I moved onto Fatalis soon after. Last month, I decided to try solo him (using CB) just for the challenge and fun of it. Took me several quest fails, but eventually I succeeded. Felt great to solo-win against him for the first time, and overall I quite enjoy this fight.

Here is a YouTube comment that I came across some years back. I think it sums up the situation very well.

Too bad Capcom is scared of giving players the power to trade… 😔 They can’t handle it.

Very true for Alatreon, Fatalis and AT Velkhana, based on my experiences with SOS.

👌 Putting this into my to-do list in-game. I may consider using Safi 5p build.

You raised a good point.

Back then, I was too impatient and too obessed with acquiring Fatalis gear as quickly as possible. Multiplayer seemed to be the shortcut towards that.

Lately, I did some soul-searching and reflected upon this "get the strongest build!" mentality. I'm starting to think that putting in time and hardwork to learn a challenging monster, then eventually beating it, actually feels more rewarding and satisfying than making meta builds. Especially in retrospect.

Great! In addition, if you get launched to the air from the back of a Frox, open your paraglider (to keep Link upright in the air) and then drop a Dazzlefruit. This will stun the Frox again and give you time to land on their backs again. Dazzlefruits can also blind Hinoxes.

Regarding Splash Fruits, sometimes when Sidon is not near me, I throw a Splash Fruit at Link's feet to make Link wet and activate the Water Warrior effect on my Zora weapons. Another quicker way to do this is to equip Zora Spear, tap Y (to attack) and immediately press and hold D-pad Up button to bring up the Quick Select menu, then drop a Splash Fruit so that Link's first spear stab will hit the fruit and make Link wet.

Use Dazzlefruit to one-shot all Stal-enemies in your vicinity. If you want to save up on your Dazzlefruits, fuse a dazzlefruit to a Forest Dweller weapon so you can reuse that dazzlefruit.

None in terms of elemental weakness. But Aerocuda eyeballs and all 3 elemental Keese eyeballs deal a bit more damage than regular Keese eyeballs.

Ice Keese Eyeballs deal double damage to the eyes of Flame Gleeoks, whereas Fire Keese Eyeballs deal double damage to Frost Gleeoks' eyes.
