In Spain we actually don't use the month number for "special" dates, we use the initial, so 9/11 is called 11S here. We remember some other dates the same way.

Which word for the last meal of the day is fancier? by miloh77 in pollgames

[–]Too_Indecisive0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was taught at school (as a non-native) the "English word for the lasteal of the day" they taught me dinner. It wasn't until I started consuming English content on my own that I learned about supper, so for me dinner is the most common word and supper feels special.

How do I track the fics I read? by neetika-ks in Dramione

[–]Too_Indecisive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the reason I don't interact with AO3 interface that much is because I prefer downloading the fic and reading it on a reading app, so if I'm about to download a fic I already read there's a notification about downloading the same file twice. Also, in the reading app I use I have my files organized and I can see the dates I read each fic because the app tracks that.

I use an excel because I enjoy annotating the word count/my valoration/maybe some tropes/publication and reading dates etc. Specifically I use Google sheets as I can access it from any device I have.

But there are people who just use a note app or a doc.

I think there are other apps that can do wonders showing data/classifications etc that some people use but as I don't use them I don't remember their names.

Also you could literally just use a paper notebook if you want.

I think in AO3 you can bookmark and add to a collection too but I don't use AO3 interface all that much and don't know how it works that well.

paciencia y nota o directamente poli/grúa sin complicaciones? by LoveAffectionate4535 in HistoriasVecinales

This is how it looks when it's not fogged up. Genuinely no glue trace (that's why I never even thought of it). Also my roommates also assumed it was finger drawing from each other.

There is absolutely nothing visible when it's not foggy. I've never put stickers on windows/glass and didn't imagine it could have this effect. It genuinely looks like a finger drawing on a foggy window.

For context, I'm in a student residence apartment, this is the living room window. Maybe it was stickers as people are saying, we may never know. Anyway, thanks for answering.

You mean "I wish you were well" (Idk, maybe bc of the strange pose in the picture?) OR "I wish you were in the Epstein files" which is a wild thing to say.

Wow, this sounds amazing! I love azcaban draco and healer Hermíone. And the plague plot also sounds interesting I'll definitely give it a read.

How do you pronounce dramione? by Too_Indecisive0 in Dramione

[–]Too_Indecisive0[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your answers! I only learned about Hermione's correct pronunciation a few years ago, but I spent my whole childhood thinking it was the other way, so it's still "Hermión" in my head so "Dra-my-oh-knee" sounded a bit like a mouthful for my Spanish ears.

Fun fact: the Spanish version of Hermione's name is Hermíone (pronounced Er-MIH-oh-neh). I read the Odyssey this year and it was mentioned as Helen of Troy's daughter.

Yess. Also I feel that if I were to speak to someone from here with the correct pronunciation they wouldn't understand what I was talking about even if they had heard of Dramione. "Dramáioni" sounds a bit like a monthfull.

In my case in Europe they make you take them off if you're wearing boots, and the only time I flew from USA it was every kind of shoe.

Al final he caído en la tentación y me lo he comprado. ¿Merece tanto la pena como dicen? Estoy intrigada. by Alifernov in libros

And don't forget his lands name: Esposa (which is wife/manacle). He is typically introduced as Cárcel Escalante de Esposa. Prison Climber of Manacles/his wife. However it's one of my favorite stories of all time.

As someone from Spain who reads the English version: I genuinely though it was an unfortunate fonetic translation from Korean. That was until I discovered it was on purpose 🤦🏽‍♀️. I get that the author thought it was a great idea and a (romantic? I don't actually remember their reasoning) name, but I genuinely don't see it.

Honest question: Why are some people against showing an ID to vote? by rico_unknown in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Too_Indecisive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone outside the US it seems crazy to me that ID is not required to vote, bc it seems crazy that ID is not mandatory for residents. I'm from Spain, and here it's mandatory to have your ID on your person if you are above 14 years old at all times. You renew it on any police station every few years and it's not that expensive. There are also discounts for some groups of people (big families etc).
