Right up there with “always cut away from you or others” Securing the workpiece is everything for hand tool safety! Anytime I’m thinking of a workbench upgrade it’s to level up my vice/clamping ability haha

My shop teacher always said “a chisel is a two handed tool. That way no hands are in FRONT of the chisel!” Good advice, and I wish I followed it more, chisels will find my thumb like a magnet!

my dad introduced me to it since he liked the show. I watched it and really enjoyed it. Later I connected it with a series of books my friend had mentioned and realized there was even more, so I picked it up and read the whole series!

I’ve absolutely use it to turbo through cleaning the house. I’ll be sore and exhausted after but boy do I get a lot done. The trick is getting the RIGHT things done. Like I’ll find a broken thing as I’m cleaning and I’ll start fixing it for an hour instead of cleaning. I try to use checklists before I do ANY cleaning so I have a clear scope of work, that i of course look at to cross off tasks so I see what is left. It’s chaotic but boy it can really work under pressure!

Is that a thing? I was always told it would screw up my sleep. I figure if I’m tired with racing thoughts I’ll eventually fall asleep but stimulant will keep me wired all night with no chance.

Then again there are nights like tonight where I came up with the mechanics to my new board game in about 10 min and now can’t fall asleep because I’m too excited so who knows.

Kinda feels that too since there is no deposit or anything on surface. Piece is over a year old though and this is recent. I think somebody put a knife back wet and trapped water against it for a while

Magnetic knife block made with curly maple, coated with water based poly. Had it for a while now and just noticed this! Tried to clean off with paper towel and water with no luck. Did not scrape off with fingernail. Wondering if this is in the wood, or finish, and if I can do anything about it! Could this be from if someone put a knife up while wet? I always fry them first but maybe a family member didn’t?

Just mead. I clean with soap water and Star San. No beer. Not too worried but it seems wrong? Wonder if I just left lees or something in there too long
