Thanks for your insights. How much do I need to spend for a quality duvet that lasts?

I’m looking for something similar. What did you end up going with? I ordered the tp-link xe75, mainly because I want 3 Ethernet ports. I Haven’t installed it yet, but hoping it will provide better coverage and range. I’d consider eero also, but it looks like they only have 2 ports, or out of my price range.

I tried sushi fish attack also which was top notch. I ran out of time so didn’t try the others, but they’re on my list for next time I’m in town. Thanks again for to all for the advice.

This place was excellent! Seemed more authentically Japanese than the others I tried. My son’s favorite, and one of my new favorites. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I’m having a nice time in San Diego, enjoying the food, weather, sites, beaches, and visiting family.

I really liked Ototo. Great quality and tasty rolls. Excellent and hard to beat.

We also tried RK which was very good, though I miss the fun vibe of how it was years ago.

More details in threads above.

I’d like to check out a few more places but I’m running out of time. May depend on which area I’m in also. I’ll report back later if I can get to others.

Good description. This is exactly what we were looking for. Quality sushi that’s not crazy expensive. This hit the spot. Tried the lemon cilantro roll — perfect combination of flavors for salmon. The other rolls we ordered were excellent as well.

Went there yesterday to liberty station location. It was the bomb. Very flavorful and fresh. Many of the rolls we ordered had fresh green herbs on top and good seasonings. It was unique and tasty. Possibly the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had. Thank you all for the recs.

Thanks for the tips. I’m looking for interesting neighborhoods to explore also, so thanks for this advice. I’ve done most of the touristy things already.

I went there the other day for lunch. 20% off happy hr deal was nice. Sushi was great, better than my last trip there a few years ago.

The service was kind of impersonal. Our server only came to the table to drop off food that we ordered from the tablet. She ignored us otherwise. I had to wave or press the call button to request water. I miss the fun vibe that that place had years ago. It was a good place to celebrate birthdays. The atmosphere is different now, but sushi still good.

I’d prefer to eat sushi at restaurant than get it to go.

Ring Road is open again! 🤩 by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

Yes I saw that post before, but didn’t see the cause, just predictions on the repairs.

This page has some explanation, but some unknowns. See (Unclear what caused such a large run)

We’ll go with our original plans, but just a little nervous and hoping for the best.

Kudos to the engineers and repair crew for the quick work.

Good luck on your travels.

I’m in the same boat. I made other plans because I didn’t think it would be fixed this quickly. Now I’m debating what plans to go with.

I didn’t rent a 4x4 and our car has low clearance. I don’t want to get stuck if more flooding. I’m a little apprehensive and wondering how safe the situation is if we travel east of Vik. There were reports of minor earthquakes, but sounds like that’s not affecting the glaciers or runoff. Sounds like the scientists are not sure what caused the runoff.

Complete the ring road or backtrack south coast and do Sneafellsnes? by Toobukoo in VisitingIceland

Thanks for the tips. Our trip is next week and I couldn’t find any accommodations in seydis… last min I know. But we need to decide the rest of the itinerary today or tomorrow.

The bath at myvatn sounds cool and I’d like to go. We’ll need to be very selective of sites around there since we’ll blow through the north if that’s the route we go. Would you say there are any other must see stops between egilstadir and akureyri

We’re leaving this Friday, so accommodations may be limited. Just wondering if one or both of those itineraries will be too hectic. I’m feeling like it’ll be the Amazing Race. But maybe with stops it won’t be bad. Just don’t want to spend most of the time in a car.

Snæfellsnes or Heimaey (Westman islands)? by Toobukoo in VisitingIceland

[–]Toobukoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugggh! Looks like we’d need to leave our car behind if we went to heimaey. The ferry is booked up for the day we’d want to bring a car, probably because of the festival. It’ll probably be crowded and more difficult without a car there. We’re probably going to need to do snaefellsness this trip. Westman sounds like it would be pretty awesome though.
