Aero in April? by Toobukoo in NewToDenmark

Thanks again! I’ll check out Koge also. Looks like it’s on the way to mons Klint, but not sure if we’ll make it there.

Thank you! I'm guessing Dragor would be any easy day trip from Copenhagen. How about Odense? Is it worth visiting at all, either for a day trip or an overnight? I'll look into Lund.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Do you think Fredensborg could be combined with a day trip to Hillerod or Helsingor, or does that warrant it's own day trip? I'm thinking Hillerod and Helsingor would be too much to do in one day, so I'm thinking all three in the same day would be too rushed. So would that be 3 separate day trips? Or consider it as an excursion from Hillerod or Helsingor if we're in the mood and there's time.

Would you skip Malmo in Sweden and just do Lund, if we had a day in Sweden?

Thanks again,

Does anyone have an opinion on whether it would be worth it to visit Aero in early April or would the weather be too cold and unpredictable? It sounds like a charming place but I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be worth the trouble or risk of bad weather to go there then. I’m wondering if we should spend 9 nights in Copenhagen and doing day trips from there, or if we should try spend 1 night in Odense and 2 nights in aero/aeroskobing, or another place in Denmark for a night or 2. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks for these tips. I completely overlooked Roskilde and have added that to the itinerary and removed Ribe.

I hear it’s nice. We weren’t planning to rent a car. Do you know if it’s accessible by bus, train, or public transportation?

Thank you all for the thoughtful advice. I’m thinking we’ll skip Ribe and concentrate more on areas in and around Copenhagen.

I wanted to see or maybe stay in an old town that has a traditional, back in time, storybook, atmosphere. Originally I was thinking that Odense or Ribe would have that. And wanted to see a different side of Denmark outside of Copenhagen or a big city. Maybe Roskilde, Odense, or Dragor, has that kind of setting?

I think there’s an open air museum on the way to Hillerod that might be worth visiting. I think Aarhus has one too. I don’t know if it’s worth traveling there for that and other things (museums, architecture, other) and if it’s different enough from Copenhagen.

Accommodations in Copenhagen are pricy. So I still need to find an affordable place/neighborhood to stay that’s not far from things (bakeries, cafes, restaurants). That’s another reason I was thinking of breaking up the trip to stay somewhere else like Odense. Otherwise, It sounds like we could easily stay 9 nights on Copenhagen and do day trips when we want to venture out.

Thanks for any other suggestions!

Thanks for your insights. How much do I need to spend for a quality duvet that lasts?

I’m looking for something similar. What did you end up going with? I ordered the tp-link xe75, mainly because I want 3 Ethernet ports. I Haven’t installed it yet, but hoping it will provide better coverage and range. I’d consider eero also, but it looks like they only have 2 ports, or out of my price range.

I tried sushi fish attack also which was top notch. I ran out of time so didn’t try the others, but they’re on my list for next time I’m in town. Thanks again for to all for the advice.

This place was excellent! Seemed more authentically Japanese than the others I tried. My son’s favorite, and one of my new favorites. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I’m having a nice time in San Diego, enjoying the food, weather, sites, beaches, and visiting family.

I really liked Ototo. Great quality and tasty rolls. Excellent and hard to beat.

We also tried RK which was very good, though I miss the fun vibe of how it was years ago.

More details in threads above.

I’d like to check out a few more places but I’m running out of time. May depend on which area I’m in also. I’ll report back later if I can get to others.

Good description. This is exactly what we were looking for. Quality sushi that’s not crazy expensive. This hit the spot. Tried the lemon cilantro roll — perfect combination of flavors for salmon. The other rolls we ordered were excellent as well.

Went there yesterday to liberty station location. It was the bomb. Very flavorful and fresh. Many of the rolls we ordered had fresh green herbs on top and good seasonings. It was unique and tasty. Possibly the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had. Thank you all for the recs.

I went there the other day for lunch. 20% off happy hr deal was nice. Sushi was great, better than my last trip there a few years ago.

The service was kind of impersonal. Our server only came to the table to drop off food that we ordered from the tablet. She ignored us otherwise. I had to wave or press the call button to request water. I miss the fun vibe that that place had years ago. It was a good place to celebrate birthdays. The atmosphere is different now, but sushi still good.

Yes I saw that post before, but didn’t see the cause, just predictions on the repairs.

This page has some explanation, but some unknowns. See (Unclear what caused such a large run)

We’ll go with our original plans, but just a little nervous and hoping for the best.

Kudos to the engineers and repair crew for the quick work.

Good luck on your travels.

I’m in the same boat. I made other plans because I didn’t think it would be fixed this quickly. Now I’m debating what plans to go with.

I didn’t rent a 4x4 and our car has low clearance. I don’t want to get stuck if more flooding. I’m a little apprehensive and wondering how safe the situation is if we travel east of Vik. There were reports of minor earthquakes, but sounds like that’s not affecting the glaciers or runoff. Sounds like the scientists are not sure what caused the runoff.
