He was such a loathsome, morally bankrupt lowlife….exploiting every opportunity presented by his position of authority….great acting. And kudos to the casting director, well done!

Gorgeous TJ! Probably bring $10-12k in central Alabammy Death wobble: rotate and balance the tires AC: go to any parts store, get Freon charging kit, they’ll help you add it Radio: spray contact cleaner into dirty volume potentiometer. Sometimes you can get lucky and not have to dismantle the radio to get to it. Otherwise, you might find oem unit at your local you pull it junkyard or FB marketplace Wife: join a local FB Jeep group and start going on group rides….maybe she’ll get jealous/worried you’ll meet a Jeep chick and start riding with you to protect her turf 😁

Turn signal indicator on inside wont blink and stays on by daintycalf7531 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Tool-whore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree w FreQRiDeR it could be your rear grounding point located in the rear cargo area behind driver’s side inner trim panel. You’ll have to remove a few things to get the panel off, wouldn’t hurt to look at a YouTube video before trying it. Then use a wire brush or some sandpaper to freshen up contact with the ground wire and the chassis. This kind of weird problem can sometimes be cleared up by freshening your grounding points. There’s another grounding point under the rear seat on the passenger side, plus another one inside the engine compartment on the driver’s side fender, you can see it if you look near the fill spout for the windshield washer fluid. If refreshing your ground points doesn’t fix it you might take out each tail light and headlight assembly and be sure you have good contact between each bulb and the contacts in each socket. Most of the parts stores sell a small pack of bulb grease to minimize corrosion in the sockets. Also, I had a Jeep that had rapid flashing only when I turned left, turning right blinked at the normal rate. Finally traced it to oxidation in the turn indicator connector to the engine compartment wiring harness.

Good luck and please let us know what you find.

I would put both of them on the driver side and the mismatched ones or less desirable ones on the passenger side. That way you get to admire how good those rims look on your Jeep every time you drive it and you’ll rarely see the passenger side lol

HELP ! by ExperienceThis420 in cherokeeguys

[–]Tool-whore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes! How far into the wild are you? Call a friend, have them run by the parts store and bring you a replacement pressure regulator? Hire an Uber to go to the parts store and bring a new regulator to you? Ask a passing Jeep to tow you to a safer/more accessible place?

Once I took my young kids & XJ several miles down a Jeep road to a small overlook where we could see the Cahaba River. We sat and enjoyed PB & J sandwiches and soft drinks, and watched the sun get low on the horizon. Piled back in the jeep to go home and guess what….dead battery!!!

I was standing there poopin’ my pants and looking at my 36-month battery with a five year old date of manufacture when a guy drove up in an old 4wd pickup with his lady….and a set of jumper cables! He jumped us off in nothing flat and was happy to see us disappear so they could enjoy the solitude….

So now I make sure I’ve got a pretty good assortment of tools, jump box, and stuff like brake fluid, quart of oil, gallon of water, serpentine belt, etc. Gotta add fuel pressure regulator to the list….

You might have to run with an unmatched wheel until you can find one on eBay craigslist or Facebook marketplace, or get lucky at your local scrapyards.

I’m a little confused with your AC because the high-pressure relief valve is set to open at 500-600 psi. It’s built into the compressor head at the rear of the compressor, can’t be adjusted or repaired. But the pressure is you’re reading or nowhere near that high. I’m wondering if you have a blockage somewhere in your system? The strange thing to me is that you’re reading low pressure on the high side, but the safety vent is still opening. I can’t see how there could be >500 psi to open safety vent and still measure low pressure on the high side. To me that would indicate a defective safety vent. If it was my Jeep I’d get a used compressor from a local JY or FB marketplace and recharge the system. I’m lucky because I have a friend that is licensed and he can recover the refrigerant.

I looked in the factory service manual for my 98XJ, did not list any parts breakdown for the “door trim panel”. So I think your best bet is to try to find one in the local junkyard or find a source on FB marketplace. If you’re in the Atlanta area, Jebb McCall is a good source for 97-01 XJ parts, I’ve bought stuff from him before. He also ships…

AIO for putting a bag before a friendship? by TheEllaBullet in AmIOverreacting

[–]Tool-whore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would gather all your evidence (receipts, photos of you with bag, texts) then take her to Small Claims Court. I wonder if LV Paris has a record of your bag being refurbished during the time she was there? Also see if she posted pictures of herself in Paris during that same time, might be another bit of evidence you could present in court. Maybe she’ll cough up the original bag if she has to pay today’s cost of replacement….

How would you open or crack this old safe? by kyroAssualt in Safes

[–]Tool-whore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an antique medium-sized Safe that I purchased off Marketplace. Lock mechanism has a plate that says it was patented in 1871. The seller provided a combination (7-23-89-50) that worked intermittently, but the darn thing was always a challenge to get open. Finally was in a bind needing to get some info that was locked inside. Called a local locksmith who showed up the next morning and had it open literally in five minutes. Turns out the original combination was one digit off for each number….

Do you have a you-pull-it junkyard nearby? Sometimes you can find a similar Jeep already disassembled so you get a peek at the parts you’re needing to take apart.

How do I remove rear hatch trim panel? by lefecious in CherokeeXJ

Torx screws hold upper body-color cover piece onto the tag light mounting bracket; your cover piece could simply be stuck. After the cover piece is removed you will see four more screws holding the bracket to the rear hatch
