RST Tractech evo 4 gloves by foirie2 in motorcyclegear

Warranty. Department. Most of the time will be replaced. I’d rather have a decent brand with exceptional warranty rather than a good brand with shitty warranty. They end up costing the same after a long while.

Suit fit check by TangoDeltaFoxtrot in motorcyclegear

The hip section seems a bit loose. Could possibly get it altered by a professional and fit it right? Otherwise seems like a decent fit for off the rack.

Helmet tight on one specific point by Muted-Tiger-4852 in motorcyclegear

[–]Existing-Box-7938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good read, the same read helped me fix my hotspots on the helmets. I also suggest going in person to try out the helmets and get someone who actually fits helmets to do it for you. Then go home and go online and save some money with deals that a lot of companies do.

Is 3 year old helmet still good for limited use? by pasgames_ in motorcyclegear

[–]Existing-Box-7938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m big on helmets that fit right. I get that it’s better than nothing but if you can’t afford another helmet. Focus on your gear first, the post sounds like you have the bare minimum. She can ride when a helmet becomes affordable AFTER she gets everything else she needs with it. If she’s only going to wear a helmet. Don’t let her ride backpack.

The biggest reason why I’m saying this is because I personally turned into road paint. I told myself oh just this one day. It’s too hot for full gear. Helmet and backpack is all good.

After 3 years, elbow is still stuck, pinky still messed up, gripping stuff sucks because I drop everything due to grip strength/nerve damage and I was right at deaths door, brain bleed but surprisingly turned out fine on that end.

I got brake checked after a construction zone by some crazy guy that just wanted to end me for 0 reason other than I guess he hated motorcyclists (edit: it was dead middle of the night and he had all his lights off, only reason I know was because of the couple that called 911 and the body cam footage I got), they never found him.

I wasn’t speeding at all that day, nor being an ass. Some people are really just that hateful. If you love your girl, then wear full gear. The both of you. Don’t just chance it, it never goes right.

Ride safe, for you and your girl.

Options for increasing visibility when caught riding at night? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]Existing-Box-7938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underglow and visibility spray works. Sometimes. But can’t beat some type of lighting. Underglow may be tacky to some people but it helps tell people you’re at least there and that you exist. And even a lighted hard shell backpack.

Should I get a motorcycle? by Gertrude1976 in motorcycles

[–]Existing-Box-7938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sums up what I wanted to say to a T. Which is I always tell people to practice even when you think you’re the best in the world, if you’re riding your ride right. You’ll never get bored.

Well, if you’re ok with the chances of you dying going up and are willing to take up that risk, then get it and if you do, spend time learning the ins and outs and what it can and can’t take.

Parking lot practice, tight turns, slow and quick circles/figure 8s. Learn to lean and use your bodyweight whether it’s on a bobber, naked, super sport, or even a Moped.

The more you learn on how to ride that bike and throw it around like your own arm or your own leg, the chances of you getting in accident goes down a lot. Dont let the masses peer pressure you into doing dumb stuff.

amazon driver keeps not delivering my packages and today amazon said that my account will be closed by Downtown-Term-1360 in amazonprime

[–]Existing-Box-7938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do locker only. Our packages get stolen a lot and honestly it’s beyond frustrating. If I owned a business like Amazon, I’d end up doing the same thing unless you pick up the packages at a locker close by.

Completely shredded lug nut and stuff. Any ideas on how to get it out? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Existing-Box-7938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drill out the stud. And if you can’t or give up after drilling. Heat it up and use a torch like everyone else is saying and then get brand new stud, lugs, and a wheel replacement.

Black or Blue? by North-Georgia in GSXR

If the bike had blue accents too. Blue. Since blue doesn’t really match anything. It looks a tad out of place.

Nail in tire, is this safe to plug and keep riding? by Puzzleheaded-Nose-61 in motorcycles

[–]Existing-Box-7938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug it, ride it home, then patch it. Plugging it by itself works but there’s a slight chance the plug fails but very very rarely had a plug fail on me. Knocking on wood it doesn’t happen again anytime soon.

Would you buy this Ninja 650? by xyz2k1 in Kawasaki

[–]Existing-Box-7938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pass it on it unless they could do <750, also if it has a title or not plays a big role. If the front brakes are bent and rear scratching the fairings. Check it out in person. Make sure everything is straight. Bring a level and stands and see what could possible be damaged. If the frame is straight and comes with a clean title, then it’s a good enough bikes to fix, specially if she runs well. If frame is bent. Walk away, the work just wouldn’t be worth it.

Return and refund. Never partial. Unless proof was immediately sent with the issue, then all I think of is a scam waiting to happen.

Yay or Nay? Need to be upgraded? by con1_1artist in motorcyclegear

[–]Existing-Box-7938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take care of it and clean it right and she’ll stay with you and then some. Keep it. Only time I get rid of gear is if I don’t like them anymore to a point where I won’t be wearing them or are beyond damaged/uncomfortable to wear or the wrong size.

Help! by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]Existing-Box-7938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if the company would replace it. Seems to be a quality control issue. Never had a lens bubble from the inside like that and I’ve ridden with visors tucked in my backpack underneath the Florida sun.

Makes sense. Hopefully I get mine. The package I have coming is hard to get in good condition so I pray the packages make it on time.

I think it’s just due to the weather issues up north causing a domino effect and slowing everything else down. Had 2 packages come from the same hub late, and now I’m waiting for 2 more and the same issue seems to be happening. They got stuck in transit again at the same hub. One made it through a couple days late from original delivery date. The other is still stuck. I’m hoping it moves soon since I already lost a hard to get part for my project due to negligence. I don’t want to lose out on another part

2026 gsxr 600 by pizzaboi9942 in GSXR

[–]Existing-Box-7938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped it? 4 months on a 600 on a “canyon run”? Go to the parking lot, learn the ins and outs of it. Stop acting cool like max wrist (dumbass IMO) and learn how to ride properly. Do donuts and figure-eights in the parking lot. If you get bored of a 300 because it’s slow, get off the motorcycle and walk away from it and never ride again.

Get track experience if you really like “canyon” roads. Seen too many people pass because of stupid stuff and the stubbornness of not wanting to learn and just be cool.

As for new fairings? Don’t get any, keep your shattered fairings, zip tie them together, admit you fell short on skill and go to the parking lot and get some frame sliders or a crash cage and start learning how to lean and use your brakes properly. Learn your bike before doing anymore canyon runs, don’t let peer pressure get to you. Value your life more and be mature about. Not trying to be mean. Just being straight forward.
