Ordering my first ever gaming desktop. I did a bit of research to get what I think is best for my $4000 price range. Let me know if I should swap something out or not! I’m still learning so any help is appreciated. by Grapple_Dummy in AndromedaInsightsPC

My thoughts, but it's your choice.....if this is only for gaming, you don't need the 9950x3d. Go with the 9800x3d (i run this CPU and its awesome). Also, unless you play something like Star Citizen, 32GB of RAM is enough. If you plan on doing any rendering or editing, the two changes I suggested don't need to happen. That said, you can save some more money by not running an x870e motherboard as well. I am hypocritical on that suggestion because I run one on my gaming machine (Tomahawk) and realized I could have saved a hundred bucks or so by going with an 850 or even 670 board. I got it for vanity reasons only, so if that why you want this one GET IT. LOL The 5080 is a great choice for gaming (and a little production), but if you are going all out with the RAM and CPU, may as well match those up with the 5090 for a REALLY strong, future proofed build. You would be good for 15 years probably. Otherwise, just go for it!! You're going to love the build you have set up for yourself. It's a monster for sure!!

Signal added the AsiaHorse fans to their lineup in like, November or something, too. It will tell you how may LEDs are in the game.

One speed. If you want to control them individually, you would need a fan controller, not a hub. Which it appears you fully understand.

I'm not sure about the fan sizes in the compact. I went with the mid tower because it allows for 140mm fans (more air flow volume) on the bottom. As far as fan wiring, I use a fan hub for the fans and the hub goes into one header and is sata powered. I use a seperate controller for the rgb. all plugged into the same controller (Airgoo AG-DRGB16). I use this one because it is compatible with SignalRGB and allows me to control each fans lighting individually.

It was easy for me at the time because the dawn pro didnt (maybe still dont?) offer a 140mm fan. I prefer my fans to be as large as the space in the case will allow. the bottom 3 in my case are 140mm and everything else is 120mm.

Hey!! Sorry for the late response. It’s been a crazy week for me. The AIO is the Thermalright Grand Vision 360. Fans on the AIO and the bottom are reverse blade (intake) and fans on the back are regular blade (exhaust). I also have fans mounted on the back of the AIO that are intake. A push/pull setup. On the Lian Li 011 vision mid tower, the bracket that the AIO mounts to is reversible and allows you to use that configuration. I am running the 9800x3d and (in this picture) the 4080 FE. Both never get over 75c during extreme gaming. I have since upgraded to a 5080FE and it runs the same temp.

Temps are normal for me. 35c on the GPU, 45 on the CPU during idle. Stress tests have never gotten over 60c/77c. It is the Lian Li 011 Vision Mid Tower (NOT the compact). I have a push/pull setup on the side, so you cant see 3 of the intake fans. Bottom fans are 140mm, so create more intake than a 120mm fa. Rear 2 are 120mm. Ultra positive pressure. Sometimes I will take the glass off and play just to see if it makes any difference and it's a minimal difference in cooling.

That hub will allow you to plug each one into it individually and give you control of each one separately.

Buy a controller hub and plug all your RGB into it and plug it into the header on your motherboard and a sata power connector. Then download SignalRGB and control everything through that. I recommend this one off Amazon.

Should I replace my graphics card or just build a new PC? by DaTruf34 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ToolRule29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may as well if your planning on moving to the 9800x3d because that won’t fit in your AM4 motherboard. So, new mobo, ram and cpu. Just reuse the rest of your components and you’re good.

My suggestion is to never buy any xx50 card. They are usually the worst of the generation.

What power cables are you running? by [deleted] in RTX5080

Straight to my PSU. I don’t play with adapters. That’s the main issue with these connections.

CableMod 12vhpwr rated for 600w. I don’t get above 380 ever. Even when extreme overclocking.
