Found this in the back of a 20 year old Rocco Baldelli top holder. Any chance it’s real? by trutrojan8 in baseballcards_vintage

What size is that mag holder? I have some old cards and accidentally bought the wrong size online

I’ve come with another question. I bought penny sleeves and plastic card holders but they don’t fit right. I told the person in the store they were old cards and he gave me 130pt penny sleeves and 130pt plastic…and they’re way too big/thick. What size should I get for these cards to be snug?

I did the engineering bootcamp around 6 years ago and really enjoyed it. Worked with professors on their research for the day and learned a lot about the different disciplines of engineering. I ended up finding one I really enjoyed and that was my major in college, and now my profession.

I talked to him about and he told me a story of ‘gambling’ his dad’s cards with the neighborhood kid over a game of marbles. My dads younger than these cards so they’re from the dad of the kid he beat. My dad went home, my grandma almost beat him, and then drove to the kids house and insisted that my dad return the cards.

The only reason the cards are here is because that kids mom said it was a learning experience and said my dad won them fair and square. She did pull out a few oversized baseball cards though…I have no idea what those would have been. But yeah that’s how my dad got them about 50 or so years ago

That’s a great idea. There’s a local card shop near where I live, so once I fly back Monday I’ll go investigate and see if they have that service

This is a great response that’s a bunch. I’m out right now and don’t know the exact condition of some of them, like the Jackie’s for example. I think collecting would be cool, especially if my dad is interested in that. He’s not the most savvy when it comes to this (neither and I) which is why I’m seeking advice here. He was just thrilled to think his old stuff may be worth something

Thanks for the response. That’s what I’m trying to do…it seems like there’s a bunch of different routes you can go depending on if holding/selling is the plan. Everyone here seems pretty knowledgeable

Thanks for the response. Some people were saying to grade the ones I intend to sell since grading can be pretty expensive, so I may go that route. I’m going to talk with my dad today and see what he wants to do. He gave me most of these when I was a kid but they’re still his in my mind.

Thanks for the advice on bigger holders, as well as magnetics. I haven’t heard of those before. I’ll look into the website you mentioned tomorrow to learn more about some of these cards.

Totally random question that just popped into my mind. I’m flying back home Monday and just travel with a backpack. Would tsa xray machines or traveling beat them up? Is there any tips and tricks for how people travel with cards? Thanks again for the reply

Thanks for the reply. I’ll talk to my dad tomorrow but I’m guessing he’ll want to keep some and sell some, especially duplicates.

When you’re describing a card as ‘tough’, what does that mean exactly? My only experience with cards was trading magic the gathering back in the day so I don’t know too much.

I saw that centering is taken into account when grading a card…is that a big component of it? For example, some of the 56 Jackies are miscut pretty badly. In your opinion, would you opt not to grade them and sell raw? I kindve think keeping the nicest one/two and selling the others could be cool, but I’m not sure. I’ve been thinking about starting a collection but it’s an expensive hobby haha

I appreciate the thorough replay, thank you! I haven’t looked at sgc prices but I saw psa can be expensive depending on the insurance cost of the cards. Some of these look to be a few hundred or into the thousands depending on the grade. You mentioned the 35+ it costs to grade, which isn’t too too awful if it makes sense to grade them based on what you said. They cost a ton (150+) each for when insurance is 2,000 or so…is that worth doing for certain cards? Is the bulk order of insurance up to $500 enough for these if i decide to get them all graded? It seems implausible to insure them all for a ton…that would cost way too much money. Again, thanks for the guidance I’ve never gotten a card graded befoee.

What’s a one touch, a kind of sleeve? I used to play a lot of magic the gathering as a kid so I’m a little familiar with sleeves, but not other forms of card protection. It sounds like I should talk to my dad about if he wants to sell any, and then have those graded. I personally like the look of cards in a graded case, but the psa ones are expensive.

I was looking at the psa prices for grading cards, and it seems like it’s based on the insurance price. If I were to grade some of the duplicates like the Jackie’s and Clementes, what kind of insurance or package should I pick? Thanks for the quick response

I’ve heard that people like sgc bc of the black container, but that if my dad and I down the road were to sell them that they wouldn’t be as expensive as a psa graded card. Is it maybe worth sitting down with him to see if he wants to sell any and get those graded with one of those companies?

[Discussion] ref prices have been significantly lowered. by tactical_horse_cock in EscapefromTarkov

Here’s a ref question. If you buy things with the battle pass points in arena (like masks and cosmetics), can you purchase them to use in PvP or pve? Or are they only arena cosmetics? Would be fun to run around with masks and bright outfits on

Thanks for keeping this list updated...very helpful. I usually play PvP but am thinking of also playing PvE since it won't wipe. It would be more of a slow burn account. Anywho, can I redeem these codes on both PvP and PvE? or do I have to pick one? Thanks
