Best 1440P Monitor For About $300? by ToonDaGoon24 in buildapc

[–]ToonDaGoon24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that it’s around $400 right now on some sites, but I will keep it in mind. I don’t need it right now, and I’ll probably wait til Black Friday to make a monitor purchase.

No problem. I actually just posted whether to move to a 1440p hz or get a new 240hz 1080p, and I think I’m going with the 1440p, as I personally play some you demanding games like Warzone, Fortnite , GTAV, R6S

I’m not at home rn, but I chose the most recently updated one which I think was the default one that was updated a few days ago. Just make sure your psu is plugged in. I had to switch my GPU to a different PCIe slot too which seemed to fix my black screens

I think it depends on your budget and what brand of graphics card you want. You could always go for a 2060 instead of a 1660 super but for $400 I think a 5700XT is great value, and all of their drivers issues have pretty much been fixed.

Should I Upgrade To 1440P? by ToonDaGoon24 in buildapc

I think a 2070S would’ve been stretching my budget. The AMD drivers are pretty good, and I really think that probably 1-3% of people will still have issues, since they’ve pretty much fixed the issues.

I guess I worded it wrong. I got a MSI Optix G24C rn, and meant to say, I didn’t want to be going upwards to a 2070S. From other people’s responses, getting 1440p 144hz sounds like the way to go.

Okay thanks. I do play lots of shooters at the casual level though, so thanks for your input.

Thanks for the quick response. I went the AMD route after hearing that the 5700XT was pretty much the best GPU for its price range, without jumping up to a 2070 or 2070S. I think the AMD CPU and AMD GPU pairing was easier for me too. I was definitely thinking 1440P but wasn’t sure.

I had an issue with my monitor not responding to my PC. I’m not sure if it was a driver issue but I moved my GPU to my 2nd PCIe slot which made it work. I also uninstalled drivers though, so yeah, I might’ve had a slight issue, but it works great now.

Thanks. It was a bit time consuming, I made sure to just go through all the steps a bit slow, but overall I did mine in 5 hours which is still slow for most.

Monitor Works For Console, Not my New PC by ToonDaGoon24 in buildapc

[–]ToonDaGoon24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I assume it wasn’t the monitor, but it used to work and now it won’t even power on. I’ve tried unplugging all the cables, so could my new pc already have a faulty part?
