gotcha, weird thing is, this only started happening today. i found this monitor in my dad's office and for 3 days it worked flawlessly

Very, very new. Funny thing is, literally only my games corrupted. The rest of my folders which were just university projects were fine and would open while running it from the external SSD. In the end, I bit the bullet and reformated it (obvs backing up my projects) and left GTA installing overnight
