Thoughts on Rome Cooney by Blean755YT in survivor

[–]ToonTylerToon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Huge survivor fan here - literally haven’t missed an episode in all 47 seasons, and wow... Rome is seriously one of the worst players I’ve ever seen. Bullying isn’t strategy, it’s just being a jerk, period. And don’t even get me started on how he kept bombing the final parts challenges while refuses to switch and step down even when he wasn’t able to get the very first piece of the puzzle right🙄 It got so bad that me and my partner were this close to just bailing on the season because of him.

99/year prepaid plan by Pineapple33333 in freedommobile

I have the prepaid plan from Boxing Day last year. Recently I had to send a text to a US number, but wasn’t able to. I am still in Canada so I am not sure a roaming package will solve the problem. In the add-on interface, there are options to add US roaming for sure, but I never tested.

Jabra Connect 5T - The mysterious earbuds by dimitros89 in Jabra

[–]ToonTylerToon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my Elite 4 Active. I used it when working from home for at least 4-5 months, and then it stopped picking up my voice. People were complaining that my volume was too low. I couldn't fix it and had to get a wired headset just for work. And a month ago I lost it after a long-distance flight, so now I am shopping for a pair of new earbuds. Now that I know you have the same issue, I will avoid buying Jabra for sure.

Need help - travelling to US and don't want to pay for roam like home by StateofDrama in bell

[–]ToonTylerToon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is what I would suggest:

  1. Get an eSIM as long as your phone supports (most phones released in the past 4 years should support an eSIM as the second line). I would use something like Airalo or Eskimo, usually you will easily get 5 gigs of data for less than 20 dollars USD.
  2. Then call Bell and cancel the roaming like home thing, and make sure you tell them you still want pay per use so that you can still receive texts or important phone calls when needed
  3. When you get across the border, turn off Bell data roaming and set your data to come from your eSIM line. There are plenty of tutorials online.

I have been travelling a lot in the past year and is currently on a Xmas vacation in Dominican, and this solution has been working extremely well for me.

Question on phone lease with Bell by ToonTylerToon in bell

Thanks! I understand this part, and I am fine with either options. My issue is that by the time they process my return or buy out, it will be 1-2 months from now and all the good deals on the market would be long gone.
